The Los Angeles Police Department confirms to Variety that Chris Rock has “declined to file a police report” following an altercation with Will Smith at the 94th Academy Awards. Smith took to the stage during the 2022 Oscars and slapped Rock after the comedian made a joke about Jada Pinkett Smith.

Agree, civilized society doesn't condone this, it's abhorrent. Why does the Oscars have rules of conduct if they allow this.

I wonder if Chris Rock assumed “the wife” intentionally shaved her head as a fashion statement instead of having alopecia, a medical condition. No idea who Will Smith’s wife is but she needs to be commended, she could have stuck a wig on her head and didn’t.

So let me get this straight, the Oscar producers are too inept to include an obvious in the news recent death (Bob Sagat)in their “In memoriam” section, yet they strategically planned having Will Smith rise to a JOKE to confront and physically attack a comedian and then sit down and shout profanity for the audience and viewers to hear thinking somehow that would inspire new audiences to watch in the future.
Then, Denzel Washington and Bradley Cooper were also “in” on this conspiracy for ratings and were seen consoling Will and his wife all to make this “staged” event seem real. I guess some viewers think they really filmed Martians on Mars too.

I think you are right. Cris is very quick on his feet verbally, and likely would have said something. I also,noted that crisis had his head leaned into Willis direction the whole time he walked up,and was careful not to move while,the slap,happened, and you can see his head move to,the right right before the slap. He had enough time to pull his head back to avoid the slap, but didn’t, though that could be down to being surprised and glued to his spot because he didn’t expect it, so can’t really comment onmthat part,of it other than most people would have pulled back and away, even if just from reflexes I would think, and likely wouldn’t have stood there afterwards.
Years ago Danny from the partridge family, a notorious bad boy image, was onstage and Andy what’s his name from TV sitcom ran onto,the stage, jumped on hi. And started acting nasty. Danny grabbed ahold of him and body slammed him to,the ground, breaking the maggot’s nose. Cris likely wouldn’t have reached that decisively, but it just seemed staged that he stood there
I dunno what the truth is, but given it’s Hollywood, it sure seemed staged. My opinion after watching movies in slow mo to,see if the character really got hit or not, and after ana,Ana, the gold show where a fella supposedly broke a glass in another fellas face, it looked very much like that kind of “swing and a miss” for Hollywood slaps and punches.
