Pit bulls are the sign of owner with mental health issues.
At the least, willfully ignoring the proven dangers.
That’s one of the main triggers in all dogs. Two or more are much more likely to attack something. Lax enforcement of laws is a problem. The problem with banning pits is, what is a pit? We had to change insurance because the agent thought our Great Dane was a pit. No one has ever really narrowed it down. The worst dog attack in my area involved five German Shepherds. I am not defending Pits. My son has one, but it is a smaller one and does not run loose. Loose dogs are a potential menace no matter what they are. The size and power of a Pit just makes things much worse. I think they are more easily triggered than most dogs.
Certain substances placed in a meatball will solve the problem.
He probably would have shot them but likely could not get a clear shot with them all over her. Also, it was quicker to start firing at long range rather than holding fire long enough to drive over and get close enough for a safe shot.
The solution for pit bulls?
A bullet. Then put the dogs down humanely.
1 Pit Bull ... 1 9mm ... problem solved
Unless you are a professional dog behaviorist, your success rate at not having serious issues with owning a pit bull eventually are really really slim.
If you are a professional dog behaviorist, you will have a slightly better outcome.
Regardless, he saved her from being a meal!

Was that quote in the article? I didn't see it, though I fully believe it's why a lot of pit bull owners have them.
Like, ya’ know, it’s sort of like, they never did that before. Weird.

That is why I fenced my entire yard when I had 7 (seven) adult Lhasa Apsos. (to protect the public).
They’re a “virtuous” dog to rescue and are “rescued” quite a bit as a first dog.
The owners of these dogs love to post pictures of the pit bulls sleeping or lazy and then use cutesy captions like “oh sooooo vicious.” They humanize dogs and think they’re pit bull is a sweetheart and would never and that little dogs bite way more often, don’t you know.
I remember watching that silly Rachel Ray where she was crying watching her horrible dog eat her dog food. Turns out there had been MULTIPLE issues with her dog and it had bit several people and her professional handler had even been threatened by the dog. But it was a rescue, so that made it wonderful.
That charge “dangerous animal not permitted off premises unless restrained” tells me that he has been cited at least once for one of these dogs... at least one of them has nipped or bitten someone in the past.

To me it’s no different that having pet hyenas and letting them run wild in the neighborhood.
I follow my neighborhood FB page and I am amazed at how many dogs get loose. Pretty much every day. Sometimes pit bulls. The other day four Rottweilers were running around in a pack. Such stupidity and carelessness haven’t resulted in a tragedy here such as this one —so far.
I was hunting in New Mexico once and stepped on a skinny 2 or 3 feet buggywhip sized rattler in some prairie grass. I let out a girl sound I didn’t even know I could make, and then flew straight up until the soles of my boots were a solid 5 feet in the air. Then I flew about 8 feet to the side.
I hate those things.
