VANITY I am a long time lurker and occasional poster. I consider Free Republic to be one of the most informative sites available, but I find myself confused with the direction of commentary regarding Russia and the Ukriane. The media, the democrats, George Soros,the UN, the World economic forum. ALL either have LIED to us continually for the last four years or are actively involved in planning the destruction of our nation. At the Risk of being called a putinista or putard I have to ask the question. Why do we accept as fact the narrative that we are being fed by the msm? You don’t have to accept the narrative. But you don’t believe them, or just believe the opposite of them either.
I don’t know that I am qualified to determine what is “just” or what is “wrong”. I do know War is hell and I refuse to go along with the Mockingbird media. Especially since I have pro-Russian Ukrainian relatives.

The direct answer to your question is a resounding yes. It’s not just happening here on Free Republic, this country and in fact the entire world has lost its discernment.
I have to admit that I too lost mine for a while but after a lot of introspection, questioning, and frankly praying to get it back I finally did. Here’s how I see it: between Ukraine and Russia as far as the governments of those two countries goes, there are no good guys. They’re just aren’t. The corruption in both countries runs deep and wide, just as it does here. Those who have their eyes open and their discernment intact see exactly what it is I’m saying.
Those who do not are being fooled. There is evil in this world and it’s running amok. Choosing between two evils that is Ukraine and Russia is still choosing evil.
And what makes this worse here on Free Republic is that many do not understand that you can discern the difference between Ukraine and Russia and see little, while still having an abundance of compassion for the Ukrainian people who are caught in the middle of all this evil. That is where I choose to focus, on the Ukrainian people who deserve our compassion and our help. As far as both governments go I just wish the only people getting killed in all of this were them and no one else.
This is where you’re wrong. The media in the United States hasn’t been truthful since before Vietnam. That goes back to my childhood. After seeing what they did to the great President Reagan, I haven’t trusted a damn word that comes out of the media’s mouths in this country for decades already. Anybody who trusts a word that comes out of the lying liberal lamestream media’s mouths is a fool.

What you should think about for a while is why exactly were the Commies unable to extinguish the flame of Christianity in Russia, given 70+ years BRUTAL free rein to do it.
The Russian people just ignored them and got on with life, like they always do. Now the flame is back in the open.

I don’t know what you have been smoking or drinking. But 99% of the posts and threads I read and seen are anti Putin. In fact it has been 99% and some change. The only reason that it has not been 100% is nothing is absolute.

There haven’t been any freepers supporting mandates. That’s a favorite falsehood of the conspiracy kooks here who insist that the vaccines are more dangerous than the virus. It suits their agenda to label those who dispute their crackpot claims as “supporting mandates”.
Let me point out that the man mainly responsible for us having vaccines in less than a year is Donald Trump, who to this day is still proud of that accomplishment. Trump isn’t a fool and he has had plenty of opportunity to question people on both sides of the argument. He doesn’t endlessly cite grifters and clickbait frauds.

I believe very little in Putin’s ‘religous awakening’. Are his recent actions at all ‘Christian’?
If anything, he has simply learned from history how well members of an organized religion can be manipulated politically.

I am not buying any of the propaganda from either side. I am a little surprised at how many pro Russian folks are on here every day.
I guess I look at it this way: I can have disputes with my neighbor and the borders of the property.
But that doesn’t give me the right to burn down his house.
And we all have to determine whether or not we see the war as just or not. In the end, do you need to be told what is right or wrong…or do you know?
I see the Russian actions as way, way over the top. If they had invaded the Donboss and secured that…that would have supported your view better. Instead, they will destroy the entire country.
In the end, this will be the end of Putin. He can win on the ground, but he has forever lost the political war. I am pretty sure Russia will become “smaller.” And that’s OK by me.

I look at everything from a Biblical point of view also. Today, we have people swearing that men get pregnant and menstruate. Men are competing against women in sports and everyone thinks it's fair. Does it raise any eyebrows that the price of gas is up due to a man ending drilling for oil in Alaska and many offshore places and now "Electric cars" are a done deal?
We have lost our reason in many areas on many things. Romans 1 tells us that we have lost our minds due to homosexuality. When a man thinks he can love a man like women are loved, he has lost his mind, or as the Bible puts it he has a reprobate mind. If I agree that sodomy is right, I have technically lost my mind also. Romans 1:32 tells us that I can't agree with the listed sins or I have lost my mind also. Let's stop supporting cops to reduce crime. Lets not drill for oil to reduce inflation. Lets leave the border open to strengthen our country. Lets print trillions of dollars to strengthen our economy. Lets give a vaccine to a child who is unlikely to get sick.
The options for "stuck on stupid" is endless when you agree that There is no God and the Bible is irrelevant. What to look out for in the Russia/Ukraine conflict is, "How can this conflict evolve into Ezekiel 38-39? Right now, we can't see Russia and a bunch of other countries come against Israel to fit the prophesy. The key I'm watching right now is Russia, China, and Iran have all come together to force the US to support Iran getting nukes. The moment Iran gets nukes, Israel will attack Iran.
Israel will be made out to be the bad guy, even the US Democrats will turn on Israel and there will be nuclear war from Russia and the Gog and Magog war will be fulfilled. If Israel is NOT involved, it's just another endless war that will be resolved as it will be resolved. Either way, the stupidity will continue till Jesus comes back. I'm really more interested in the elections approaching to see if America will lose the scales on their eyes. It doesn't look good.
The mob will not rest until we are at war with Russia. They will gladly be led by American communists into globohomo and WW3 without even taking a minute to question the narrative or to try to see things from the Russian perspective. And not one question about the Soros government in Ukraine.
