‘what if?’ plans. (water/ heat)
I thought about that when I read about the frozen meat. A freezer full would be a lot of meat to eat when it thaws.
for all the debate here on FR about residential solar power, and those ready ready to deride it ... we will have power, day and night, (we have solar batteries) and it’s silent.
Freezers and fridges, including the wine fridge, will be fine.
In a prior home we had the big backup LP Generac. While it was fairly quiet running, it was far from silent. When the power was out, the neighbors (and we inside) could hear it.
There might be times when you don’t want that.
That’s where pressure canning comes in.
To prep for that, I put in a solar system big enough to support one side by side refrigerator/freezer. It took me a while to buy enough batteries to last the night but I’m now at that point. I’m lucky enough to live in a high sunshine state.
