April is a former Ms Great Britain... so why does she claim it's impossible to find love? The answer gives a troubling insight into the mindset of many young men today as beauty queen reveals she gets 'ghosted' after dates

For an 'empowered, super-successful woman' (her words), 2020 Ms Great Britain April Banbury can be rather daft when it comes to men.
She's met goodness knows how many online in the past few years, dated 'more than 100' of them and slept with 'the ones I felt I might have a connection with potentially'. Then . . .
'They just ghost me,' she says with a look that's part fury, part hurt on her very pretty face.

Herein I can now see the problem: 1) Feminist "empowerment" nonsense and 2) turned 33, which is not quite hitting "the wall", but she is not in her 20s anymore.Any intelligent ("street-wise") eligible bachelor of approx. the same age who meets here in a "dating scenario" will have the following first thought:
I would rather be dating the 20-year-old version of this woman (the one with another approx. twenty "good" years left in her). Here, before me, is the 33-year-old version of this woman (with maybe about seven "good" years left in her). She has squandered more than half of her "youthful, fun" phase with other men. Now, I get the "declining years."
Honestly: If you're in a supermarket, and wanting to maybe purchase a quart of yoghurt to eat in the near future - you of course look at the "Best Used Before" date.
If there are only two containers of yoghurt left on the shelf - one marked "Best Used Before THIS EVENING" and one marked "Best Used Before TWO WEEKS FROM NOW," which are you going to choose?
They are BOTH perfectly delicious right now - but you were thinking of maybe eating it tonight, or tomorrow, or the day after... There is no "rush."

A good man does not care about female wealth for its own sake / as a value unto itself.
If I understood cgbg correctly, he was saying that men should see a woman's great wealth NOT as a potential resource to tap (i.e., for him to live on "Easy Street"), but rather merely as an "insurance policy" to discourage her from "taking him to the cleaners" in divorce court.

My all time favorite turn-up-the-volume song. Ever.
I use the intro as my ringtone for all my various Doctor's phone numbers.

"...My all time favorite turn-up-the-volume song. Ever." I remember lifting weights to that song in high school gym class.

Wow. In post 78, where you replied to post 26, it was pretty clear that you misunderstood what was written as being about you. It wasn't. I took a look at the interactions that followed; things seemed to go downhill from there. In a forum as big as FR, if you put a button out there
someone is gonna push it!
To paraphrase Robert Downey Jr. from "Tropic Thunder" ... you went full Karen. Never go full Karen. ;-)
Really sorry about your husbands cancer. That is definitely rough for both of you. I have survived three different cancers (so far). Coming up on 10 years in the clear. I hope you guys get to say that one day. Prayers up!

Are you sure they are not watching “Lifetime” instead?

“Lifetime”..”Hallmark” these are channels I just don’t watch. Hallmark has romance movies so I know they watch that. I watched half of one of those movies and never went back. The characters were too poorly scripted.
