The American government, for nearly this entire century (at least), has been in the hands of people who are criminally stupid (not to even mention their corruption). They are now a junta, a cabal, holding power, in their own eyes, permanently. But their epic stupidity remains.
They have spent nearly a decade shouting from the rooftops that Putin is a monster and his country is evil. For whatever reasons they did it (perhaps to help retain power), that is criminally stupid - especially if he IS a monster. They have made an intransigent enemy out of someone AND a country that did not have to be such an enemy. That is the most stupid and destructive thing they could possibly have done - and it is directly responsible for what is happening today.
The leadership of the West is craven, depraved and stupidly ham-handed. Their arrogance and belief in their own superiority will be the end of this civilization.
