Unfortunately that area is perhaps the most war torn region in history. Since the dawn of civilization armies from various peoples have fought over it or moved through it.

I’ll bet a few Nazi Germany helmets can be found in some basements and dens in the US.😁

The helmet has a padded interior made of fabric or leather to protect the warrior’s skull.

I'm guessing that was rich Corinthian leather.

The Pontic Steppe is where empires and entire peoples have invaded, fled from, and died in. It is rich farmland and pasture worth fighting over. It is the birthplace of the European people.

I wonder if Vlad “the bad” Putin considered that in his famous historical speech the other night.

Greeks where the very first outsiders to have entered that area.

Not much is known about it before.

I recall someone having an ancient Greek helmet on their fireplace mantel. Showing off the rusty item a friend said “that’s not a helmet, it’s a headlight housing of a Ford Model A.”

If you want your own, you can get a Corinthian helmet at Walmart:

You, Spartan warrior, have spent years preparing for this battle. Let the Persian army feel fear when they see the Greek Corinthian Helmet with Plume.

In antiquity, when a warrior died his helmets would be buried next to him.

Great, now Putin will claim Greece is a breakaway province of Mother Russia and invade to seize the Strategic Ouzo Reserve.

Well, that settles it! Greeks settled ancient Russia and Russia in inalienably Greek!

I guess Greece will now invade Russia to reunite it with the Motherland.

“Ancient Greek Corinthian Helmet Found in Southwest Russia,”

Give it a few hundred years and the title will be

Maybe that area produced pretty boys back in the day.

That would definitely attract wandering Greeks.
