“Patreon does not allow any campaigns involved in violence or purchasing of military equipment, regardless of their cause,” a company spokesperson told CNBC in an email. “We are investigating because of representations on their donation page for how the funds will be used. We have suspended the campaign in question while we investigate. If a page is ultimately removed our policy is to send the creator the remaining funds or refund all pledges.”

I once gave money to a ‘GoFundMe’ that was established for someone I knew whose family had gone through a horrible time during the illness and death of the father.

After what I’ve seen lately, I will never engage in any of this stuff again.

These aren’t legitimate ‘charities’ anymore. They’ve become not much more than political operatives.

Well said. One more thing that has been perverted into something far from the original intent.

Joe and Hunter probably weren’t getting their 10%.

And I’m betting it was a scam anyway.

If they stated this rule up front and stick to it for everyone I don't have a problem with it. It's not like GoFu@@Me deciding $10 million into the campaign that they don't like the recipients and are going to keep the money for their own causes but will let there political allies do anything with the money they raise.
