Yes, that’s my guess. Cruelty and desire for domination of the innocent and helpless is an extremely powerful motivator. Sex runs a poor second, or usually third, to that. Cruelty and force become all-consuming. The sexual urge is also consumed - it just becomes another way to hurt someone.
Here’s some advice: Whenever you see a child - any child, even when glimpsed out the car window on a busy day - think kindly thoughts towards him/her. Try to visualize a shield of protection around that child. Wish him well, even if you only see him for half a second. And of course it goes without saying that you should always help and protect children. Even if they do stink.
