My whole life I was Back The Blue.
My whole life I was pro-cop. I was a master of giving them the benefit of the doubt, even for pretty obvious cases of police brutality.
I simply cannot say I'm pro-police anymore.
Not after watching these "just following orders" thugs.

Power is intoxicating and there sure a lot of power drunks around today.
If I head anywhere it will be to a warmer climate.đ My hands give me hell in cold weather. Rheumatism ain’t fun. No, if it’s colder than Virginia I ain’t going. You damnyankees are welcome to all the cold and â you want.
“Power is intoxicating and there sure a lot of power drunks around today.”
I worked in criminal justice for a while (held a CJS L4 clearance). I found the Sheriff’s department spent significant resources to get rid of the Nazi cops. There were many of them. Lots of great deputies in that department, and very dedicated leaders, too, but they got some real winners from time to time that knew how to get through the psych evals and get hired.
A lot of conservatives act as if a large police presence is a good thing. I don’t see anything “conservative” about that at all. The defining characteristic of a free, law-abiding society isnât a major police presence — it’s an armed citizenry
Hear hear!
Most LEOs are unionized, channeling dues to Democrats.
I think I see the problem here.
I think one has to look at who/how LE is empowered, frankly. If LE is controlled by city government, then yes they are very often far more concerned about keeping their own nests feathered and willing to enforce extra-legal commands from their leftist city mayors, etc.
I look at entities like county sheriffs, etc. as being more responsive to freedom and citizens because they aren’t beholding to city managers, mayors, councils or the like. The Sheriff is elected by the citizenry. I’d far more trust a deputy from that department than I would some LEO being leashed like a lap dog by some puke leftist Mayor like Lori Lightfoot.
All positions of authority in the west will follow orders from the state more than not
That’s a fact
But could not be the problem that finding dedicated LEOs is hard to do. Haven’t the leaders reduced qualifications to accept more incompetent people, people with psychotic problems and those who only want the power?
Finding LEO candidates isn’t hard at all. Lots of people want to be a cop.
Finding normal people with good skills is the trick.
Unfortunately, candidates meet cops, trainers, and others who coach them on what their points of view need to be to answer interviews and psych evals properly to get hired. There are also groups of criminal types that try to get their people hired in as well.
So there is no hope?
Of course, there is no hope.
If we already have lots of good cops, and we won’t be getting any more than we have now, things can only get worse. We already see all city cops being useless, half the Sheriff departments useless, and all federal agencies are terribly corrupt. Toss in a military that is already fighting the intelligence agencies, with the CIA and the NSA corrupted to the core.
We still have plenty of good government resources on our side, but this doesn’t end by asking, voting, or protesting.
It may not have started out that way, but it most certainly has devolved to that....even to those criminals wearing badges.
I see some movement in the right direction but it is slow and at this time a confused, unorganized, movement. hard to tell the direction we are going at this time because all the bad guys are in the news.
Hate to see this country fail.
“most police officers donât give a shit about their oaths to the Constitution and will side with elected tyrants for money.”
I got another red pill the other day when I read that the police are not there to protect you, they are there to protect the criminals from you. Makes a lot of sense when you think about it.

I would like to believe that, but in several of the Jan 6 protester’s arrest pictures there were sheriff’s deputies standing right there with the FBI or slightly in the background. Our local sheriff (and DA), in a very overall conservative area, have been campaigning against constitutional carry. Of course both retiring this year.
I really don’t know if they were Sheriffs’ deputies or US Marshals or whoever. It was hard to tell with all of them being dressed up like the Trump-supporters they were playing to be.

Maybe I wasn’t clear; I’m talking about when the Jan 6 protesters were arrested at their homes.
“Itâs not just the police though itâs the whole system like I said in the OP (prosecutors, judges etc). Weâre seeing this kind of abuse with Jan 6 prosecutions.”
DC police are NOT municipal civilian police; likewise for the DC prosecutors and judges. There is also a fundamental difference between the federal RCMP & Capitol Police and your County Sheriff / city police officer. FBI et al . obviously agents of executive punitive enforcement.
Other than that, I’m generally avoiding this thread due to personal bias. But I agree in principle with the sentiment that if sworn officers cannot walk away in certain situations, they are automatically domestic enemies by choice.
