My whole life I was Back The Blue.
My whole life I was pro-cop. I was a master of giving them the benefit of the doubt, even for pretty obvious cases of police brutality.
I simply cannot say I'm pro-police anymore.
Not after watching these "just following orders" thugs.

Personally as a wacky libertarian I have always been wary of the cops, their powers and scope for abuse etc. but I know not everyone here shared these views however I sense this could be changing...

I came to the conclusion about a year ago that the police are not on the side of the people; most police officers don’t give a shit about their oaths to the Constitution and will side with elected tyrants for money. Also in recent years leftist cities have lowered pyschological standards for new cops thus there are now many more sociopaths and psychopaths on the streets with power, and that’s not a good combination for order and good policing. Also, that was done on purpose for the sole reason of making police departments brown shirt enforcers for the communist democrat party at the local level.
The DEMOCRATS RUIN EVERYTHING THEY TOUCH!!
We have been saying for years that the police and military are conservative and would not back tyranny.
The Left heard us, and in every Democrat administration have been very busy CHANGING THAT, so as to transform police and military, particularly at senior officer levels, into forces who will NOT be on our side. It is one of their main projects.

A good start would be to repeal things like the PATRIOT Act and civil asset forfeiture...

I used to be mostly pro-cop but I got arrested for resisting arrest in 2020 when I tried to report 3 violent felonies against me, the cop was a d1*k, I reacted to that and he arrested me for made-up misdemeanors rather than pursuing those 3 violent felonies. All charges were dropped against me. I have video of the 3 felonies so now it’s time to sue San JOse, CA for violating my civil rights.

I’m not against the good police officers, those who will stand by their oath, and there are a few of them left but not many, but thats the problem, after many decades of democrat control, big city police departments have been transformed from being police forces that “protect and Serve” the people, into enforcers for tyranny.
I also will never support antifa or blm nor any other anarchist, socialist or communist group, ever.
only bright side to all this is their Military is a disgrace, and probably cannot be effectively used against us.
I’ve heard these kind of stories before where the cops go after the accusers mostly because the accused is/are protected.

I haven’t been pro police since Trump ran for office and watched the cops stand around with their thumbs up their nose while his supporters were being attacked
A lot of conservatives act as if a large police presence is a good thing. I don't see anything "conservative" about that at all. The defining characteristic of a free, law-abiding society isn’t a major police presence -- it's an armed citizenry.
I had no idea that was what I was stepping into. If I had known, I would have just gone my own way. As it is now, I don’t bother calling the cops any more on even serious crimes. Someone else’s problem, let them get arrested by such a d*#khead cop.

I don’t know about that. Big city police, and everywhere really, were rife with corruption 50 or 60 years ago. Doesn’t even begin to compare to today, although crime fighting tech and cameras probably keep them in line more than any change in government or public attitudes.
Most of what I’d like to see can be done through passing or repealing laws either at federal or state level.

It’s not just the police though it’s the whole system like I said in the OP (prosecutors, judges etc). We’re seeing this kind of abuse with Jan 6 prosecutions.
The dems are the worst, the RINO’s are bad but they do what they do for monetary gain, they’re not full fledged communist authoritarians, like the dems are. Our biggest problem is the reconstituted authoritarian neo-communist democrat party. The RINO problem is managable as we knock a couple off in primaries most years, the biggest problem is the dem party by far because authoritarian communism is their religion and they have turned fanaticle.
