I haven’t had cable or a dish since 2010. Prior to that, my ex had to have ALL the bells and whistles. It didn’t interest me then, so when I kicked him out and had the CHOICE of NOT PAYING FOR DAILY PROPAGANDA, it was an easy one. :)
Now I live buried well into Der Hinterlands, so I have satellite internet and no TV other than what I can pick up with an antenna.
Works for me. I’ve got better things to do other than listen to the idiots trying selling me soap and hamburgers...and that there are no two White People married to one another anymore, and that being gay is NOT a slap in God’s face, and that kids only need two Daddies or one Mama.
See where I’m going with this? ;)
Anyone have a great TV antenna brand/model to recommend?
Want to ditch Dish Network this year.
We live in the boonies, about 30 miles south of a city with over the air free TV signals.
Thanks for any suggestions on a good make/model.
We have roku devices. I like Brit TV so we pay $60 a year each for Acorn and BritBox. Works fine for us.
I cut YoutubeTV after 11.3.20 because I no longer wanted to watch Fox News. Now Im strictly Firestick. Free youtube has tons of content. Download the Rumble app. Lots of patriot friends there. I watch And We Know on Rumble. Love that show.
Typing a period?

You’re right. I’m stupid and rushed out a response without reading your link. I stupidly assumed you had to download some software. My bad.
Hopefully everyone realizes that even though you cut the cord as far as paying out the ying yang for cable, you may be attaching yourself to an invisible personal data cord via streaming apps that you have to sign in to.
Why would you use a censoring company like YouTube? What are you thinking. Fubo has better programming.

I have been considering getting rid of Dish Network. I’m very interested in what I are doing. I have internet and want to get rid of stuff I don’t want or need.
The thing that is stopping me from cutting the cord is some recordings on our Uverse DVR that are unavailable elsewhere. The wife won’t let me cancel. I can’t find a way to offload those recordings although I have researched it.
Thank you, will check that out tonight.
one can only watch Hogans Heros so many times....that and Adams Family....
we miss a lot of sports...
we do have prime but it seems anything we want to watch costs....
I'm not sure but I think we are not using prime the right way..
.
Glad to see you started a discussion on this topic.
I’m kind of stuck with either AT&T or Comcast as my provider. They are the only ones that enable the premium channel TV Japan that my wife loves.
So I’m basically paying $150 a month for watching just that.
Longer term, as the cut-the-chord alternative improves, I’ll probably be able to move a Roku or YouTube.
One of the key features we couldn’t get from Apple TV is the ability to record and playback shows that are less than 24 hours old. That’s important to us.
TV is junk food for the mind.
I hear you. The only thing new they have had in MONTHS is the Marvelous Mrs. Masiel. They are promoting Killing Eva which is watchable but barely. I am hanging on to it because I was thinking the Last Kingdom is coming out, the best program of its type but that is on Netflix now that I think of it.
