Why are the police we revere doing the tyrants’ bidding?
American Thinker ^ | 19 Feb, 2022 | Patricia McCarthy

Too many cops are choosing the side that uses and abuses them.

believe there are more instances of the abridgement of freedom of the people by gradual and silent encroachments by those in power than by violent and sudden usurpations. James Madison

Without a doubt, being a police officer is one of the most difficult and dangerous job on the planet. One has to admire those who take on the job. The American left has made its contempt of our police abundantly clear for several years now. Encouraging the BLM riots, excusing the damage done, decreeing no punishment for those who did billions of dollars in property destruction over the summer of 2020 was their coin of the realm. Lacking common sense and any skill at predicting the consequences of idiotic policies, they have doubled down on stupid as cities like NY, Chicago, DC, and LA rack up homicides committed by career criminals repeatedly let loose on an unsuspecting public.

On a daily basis innocent victims are attacked, injured or killed by violent perpetrators who have been released by cavalier lefty judges who have become self-appointed social justice warriors.

SNIP

So how do we explain the fact that in countries around the world, Australia, UK, US, France, Belgium, Austria, and Canada, the police, those who were not fired for refusing the vaccine, have taken the opportunity to act like tyranny’s handmaidens rather than protectors of the people, their essential charge, the reason they signed up for the job? In Canada, a few have sided with the truck drivers’ cause, but the rest seem to enjoy the opportunity to roust good, law-abiding, non-violent protesters.

YOU can’t understand the reality of normal policing is that this person has been granted the right to throw you in jail because the government has decided you’re a problem. Police exist because the GOVERNMENT doesn’t think YOU can be trusted.

Part of police training is getting the conscience OUT of the recruit. That’s the whole point of the “thin blue line”. It teaches cops that anybody who isn’t a cop is either a mewling victim or a scumbag, and they should respect neither.

I’ve pointed out to you the reality of “normal policing”. George Washington warned us that government is force. And the police exist to project that force at the citizens. THAT IS NORMAL POLICING. Don’t revere it.

I live in a downstate Illinois metro area. Law enforcement here were able to get looting at the main shopping areas stopped relatively quickly during the Floyd riots. Kudos for the men in blue, green, and kakis in my area. Also there was no catch and release after the fact..

Nope. I’m revealing a reality based philosophical foundation. That fully agrees with the founders. Only a half-wit wouldn’t understand that.

Are you confident enough in your philosophy to state it outright, and are you mentally competent enough to do so concisely?

That doesn’t address the point I brought up.

I have stated it outright and concisely. Right here. To you. If you can’t understand it, well, nothing else I can do.

In the TV show "The Man in The High Castle" (alternate universe where Germany wins WW2 and takes place in the 50s or maybe early 60s, I forget)) one of the characters is crossing the country by car and gets a flat tire. A cop pulls up and helps him change the tire, offers him a sandwich for the ride, and explains that the tattoo on his arm was from when he served in the war but he can't even remember what they were fighting for because life is pretty much the same anyway.

Then it starts to snow, but it's not cold. Cop casually explains its ashes from the hospital, on Tuesdays they burn cripples and other burdens on the state.

It's a creepy scene, how could a war veteran just become so numb to atrocities that they just go along and even just accept it as normal? But we know from history and from things going on right now that people do. As long as they are comfortable and their bellies are full they just go along. They go along until they aren't comfortable or their bellies aren't full. But of course then it's too late to do anything about it.

I understand where you’re coming from. But if the jews had FR back then, one of the first things to get shut down woulda been FR. Because of posts like that.

There are other places on the dark web for such expression.

I agree. The way to stop oppression is refusing to go along with it. It doesn’t take everyone, just enough to cause the ruling elites to fear resistance and they would back off. They are, after all, very insecure people.

Unfortunately there are too many out there who are OK with cracking heads and have no qualms about applying unnecessary force in an unlawful manner. And remember, cops and military personnel are used to following orders. they see it as part of their “ethical” duty to their job.

The problem with oaths is that they are essentially meaningless. Politicians take oaths all the time but just ignore them. Oaths are largely a formality.

They have very little concern for the extreme hardships they cause.
***In reality, cops are afraid of muscular, tattooed bullies. They don’t want to induce those hardships on such @$$#0/es, they only consistently impose those hardships on ordinary people because they know such people won’t frack them up out in the streets.

Patty can revere who she wants, do not think for an instant it is universal.

No, I’m asking you to state clearly your most general ideology.

Opposition to others revering police is highly specific and not an ideology.

Refusal to state your general ideology—whether it be communism, globalism or American conservatism—shows you don’t feel confident in its integrity.

Consider the Milgram "obedience" experiments in the early 1960s. One of the more famous ones was having a volunteer apply increasingly higher voltage shocks to a man wired up to an electroshock machine for giving the wrong answers to questions.

Once the voltage reached close to 100 volts, the man wired up would start yelping in pain. Yet a certain percentage of volunteers would continue right up to the max of 450 volts, a potentially lethal dosage.

The man wired up was part of the experiment and not really getting shocks. He was just an actor. But the experiment showed that we have people in our society who would obey orders from an "authority figure" even if it meant pain or death to others.

Interestingly, those volunteers who wanted to quit the experiment when they realized they were hurting another human being were harangued to continue and made to feel guilty if they quit. Only a few had the moral integrity to walk out of the experiment early on (all volunteers were made to believe the man was actually getting shocked).

The ones who went all the way to 450 volts are likely the personality types that the police forces are hiring these days. People who will just take orders unquestionably.

Less government, less taxes, don’t trust power. You know, conservatism. At least that’s what it used to be.

I didn’t refuse to state anything. You were unclear in your request.

[There are other places on the dark web for such expression.]

“And how we burned in the camps later, thinking: What would things have been like if every Security operative, when he went out at night to make an arrest, had been uncertain whether he would return alive and had to say good-bye to his family? Or if, during periods of mass arrests, as for example in Leningrad, when they arrested a quarter of the entire city, people had not simply sat there in their lairs, paling with terror at every bang of the downstairs door and at every step on the staircase, but had understood they had nothing left to lose and had boldly set up in the downstairs hall an ambush of half a dozen people with axes, hammers, pokers, or whatever else was at hand?... The Organs would very quickly have suffered a shortage of officers and transport and, notwithstanding all of Stalin’s thirst, the cursed machine would have ground to a halt! If...if...We didn’t love freedom enough. And even more – we had no awareness of the real situation.... We purely and simply deserved everything that happened afterward.”
