1-oil is kerosene
Diesel falls in here
2-oil is heating oil
6-oil is “bunker oil” for barges and large ships.

2 oil can be burned in RCCE (diesel engines).
Elevated BTU must be accorded.

I don’t know is this is purple fuel.
I suspect purple in Canada equates to off-road orange (red) fuel here in US.
Different tax scheme and cannot be used for OTR vehicles.

That “purple” description seemed to come from someone who just didn’t quite know what he was seeing. Looking into a can of red offroad, and if the poly can itself was yellow or red, there could be a range of appearances. As best I can tell the Kanucks don’t have different colors of fuel. I buy off road all the time and, out in the open, it’s bright red.

The truckers most likely have small engines/generators/stoves/etc that can use I, D, or2. I remember back in the oil embargo in 1973 we had the fuel lab confirm for us that we could use all of them in our diesels-—just maybe needed to tune a little depending on which one. When it comes to fuel I expect the Mounties will be really polite and careful. They are not exactly licensed to be jerking around with it. Even more so, any HAZMAT guys who might be around.
