"Free thought" is a philosophical viewpoint which holds that positions regarding truth should be formed on the basis of logic, reason, and empiricism, rather than authority, tradition, revelation, or dogma.
When you are awake, you are able to clearly see.
The choice is yours, and yours alone.
Trust and put faith in yourself.
You are not alone and you are not in the minority.

I once asked a guy involved in AI about the prospect of AI acquiring free will, which would be a much better holy grail more than self-awareness. He didn’t really have a coherent answer. The answer that would have been a good start is that the human mind doesn’t fully comprehend free will.
What seems most characteristic of information technology to date is that its products never meet expectations. There’s always something going wrong. So-called upgrades are mostly upgrades in the amount of money changing hands, not so much in quality of the software.
The people involved, these days it’s the AI folks, always speak about their work as though they have more knowledge and understanding of its future than they seem to actually have.
