How they thought they would get away with this I don't know.

Just in case you missed it-Did you know if you dispute the donation to gfm with your bank/CC they will be charged a $15 dispute fee. They want you to click the refund link because then there will be no fees. What they don’t want is 120,000 (amt of donors) $15 fees! Just sayin’

Its a winning political issue. A smart candidate will pick it up.
Isn’t there an alternative to go fund me? No activists?
There was a Reddit thread late last night that was pulled and LOTS of contributors were lawyers and attorneys. Apparently, they sent legal letters or emails to GoStealMe to either hand back their money or face legal consequences. That Reddit thread was pulled this morning.
in addition, a few of them cited the agreement when joining GoStealMe that NO WHERE on the agreement does it say they weill decide on their own to take your money and hand it to charities. They dug their own graves when they stated it on the announcement.
GoFundMe was just supposed to be a payment processor, but are trying to do the job of tax inspectors. The only thing they have in common with FedGov is when fraud is expected instead of returning money to those defrauded they give it to their favorite libtard charities.

BATON ROUGE, La. — Attorney General Jeff Landry announces his office is launching a probe to determine whether GoFundMe’s handling of the Freedom Convoy fundraiser violated Louisiana’s consumer protection laws. The AG urges citizens to contact his office.

It is a start.
GoFundMe, meet Salvation Army. Salvation Army, meet GoFundMe.
Get Woke ... Oh, you know the rest.
There is something where you could file a chargeback to your credit card which would cost GFM $10-100/per transaction - as many people that were furious about this, that would be costly as over 120,000 people donated.
If your bank contested that you clarify that it is under Regulation E and they could get in trouble if they didn’t do it.
GFM no doubt knew this might be coming down the pipeline which is why they are trying to look civil about it.
“Attempted THEFT” is still a crime sometimes...
should be easy enough to prove that one
The way the media will report this is that the people who donated to the Truckers, hate charities.

If you rob a bank and then give it back you still robbed a bank and need to face the consequences.
Does this mean a small conservative organization that couldn’t create an outrage would have their funds taken by liberal thugs? Probably.
It’s time for GoFundMe to paste a disclaimer on their site saying they will confiscate all funds if the discover the recipient’s conservative.
it was the backlash that prevented them from stealing $10 MILLION. They should still be punished for announcing their intention to steal it in the first place, not rewarded for not stealing it.
Abandoning your attempt at theft when you get caught trying it is not nearly enough. GoFundMe needs to be investigated and prosecuted.
Is “GoFundMe” a DBA for the Clinton Foundation?
ANOTHER opportunity for Trump to start a new business!
