The Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics kicks off with around 2,900 athletes from more than 90 countries and regions participating in over 100 events.

Not watching does not reduce the competition only means no one is watching it.
There is not a bigger bullying, disrespectful, thuggish country in the world right now. No respect for other people, their territories, their properties. Fluffed up with their own racial superiority nonsense like some other thuggish regimes in the past.
Most of all, releasing Covid into the world, killing so many people, and destroying livelihoods and economies everywhere. Then they sit around and act like they did nothing wrong.
Nope! Watching the Olympics in China will be like giving them a thumbs up, while they strut around like a bunch of peacocks.
Can you believe the nerve of that woman? Did she ever tell American athletes to stop kneeling here?
I hope they all kneel disrespectfully when the Chinese national anthem is playing, in solidarity with COVID victims around the world and all persecuted Christians, slaves and political prisoners in China.
great symbol of their slavery.
#notoneminute.
Now these two anti-American sons of bitches are up to this;

No commie sports
That includes football
Freepers have NEVER supported the Games. You should know that. The Games are an opportunity for the matriarchal mainstream state propaganda networks to make money selling Big Pharma, the banking industry and feminist ideology
To The Lake is on Netflix, one season, released in 2019, but startling parallels with covid pandemic. Available in Russian with subs or English dubs. Verisimilitude in every scene. The Barrier is similar but in Spanish, with a military dictatorship exploiting their pandemic. There’s also a new flick out in Dutch about Anne Frank from the POV of her best friend. You can watch all that, and the 4th Season of Cobra Kai, among other things. Or you can watch the Genocide Games, in which immoral and amoral athletes think they are impressing everyone by running around in the snow doing stuff in an evil, corrupt dictatorship bent on world domination.
Full disclosure: I do Chinese martial arts to stay/get in shape, love their musical language, profound philosophers, beautiful writing, and delicious cuisine. I even am competent eating with chopsticks, and used to have wicked thoughts about the jyok sing secretary who used to work in the cubical next to mine. But the PRC sucks.
Heck I recall years ago so many stations carried it....now NBC has the rights only the last I knew.
*********************
In reality, ABC and NBC traded off the American rights for a number of years. I think ABC gave up bidding for them when Jim McKay retired. In a move of either pure class or blatant nostalgia, NBC had McKay doing a partial voiceover at the opening program of one of the Winter Games a few years ago, not long before he passed away.
All I know is that NBC made a multi-year deal with the IOC, and I’m not sure how long it goes for. I don’t think any other network even wants to do it anymore.
NFW
Troll....go back to DU
I remember when we (Americans) took pride in kicking Soviet and Eastern Bloc (mainly East Germany) a$$ at the Olympics rather than kowtowing to the evil empire of the day. The Olympics were a “friendly” extension of the Cold War.
That’s how I feel about these Red Chinese Olympics. I hope we beat them at everything!
Kinda funny...or not...but Russia, the Russian flag, and the Russian national anthem are all BANNED from the Olympics. The IOC ruled this as a punishment for the Russian teams after the massive systemic doping that they participated in.
The Russian athletes participate under the flag of ‘ROC’, and if they win anything, that’s the flag that’ll be raised, and the Olympic Hymn would be played. I do not know how long the ban is for.
Correct… Some of them in Tokyo wearing very small Russian flags pinned to their gear in violation of IOC rules
Okay....the Chinese (according to NBC’s commentators) said the lighting of the Olympic Flame would be ‘unprecedented’.
So they ran the Torch into the stadium, passed it off a few times, and the last two runners were a Chinese...and a Uyghur.
But then, the Torch was simply plugged into the center of a giant snowflake which had all the participating nations in it. Then the snowflake was raised to the center of the stadium....
...and that was it. NO CAULDRON. Just a single Torch. How utterly underwhelming. Call me diappointed.
Need to get some wax out of my ear.
I applaud your sticking with your post. Many such posts are hit and run. Good for you.
Now, I agree with the comments of “What did you expect?”
You’ve been here a long time, you knew what was coming.
I used to love to watch the Winter Olympics but gave up on it several years ago when many of the “American” competitors were anti-American wokesters. Takes a lot of the fun out of watching when you’re cheering for other countries. That coupled with having it in Red China makes this one must-not see TV for me.
My attitude is “if you want to watch events like the Olympics, that’s your choice, and I respect it.”
Personally, I won’t be watching any Olympics coverage, the flame isn’t burning for me…lol.
