The last book in the series reveals that Hari Seldon did not invent psychohistory, it was planted in his mind by R. Daneel Olivaw, a sentient robot, already at that time thousands of years old. A robot that was on a mission to ‘save humanity’, using his internalized “Zeroth Law”

Wasnt't that cool how they blended Foundation with I Robot?

It’s a common occurrence in the early Grand Masters’ novels.

Heinlein did it and I think Clarke did as well. At the end of their ‘careers’ in sci-fi they combined all or a good portion of their early characters in a single story, like a ‘farewell’ to the characters they created.......................

Remember the part when one of our heroes got stuck on a planet occupied by ferocious dogs and he did not have his Blaster with him?

I am going to go have to read that series again. That would make 4 times, except the first time there were only 3 books.

Dang I gave all of those books away decades ago.

Indeed though, I did like that surprising merge of the Robots Series and the Foundation.
