“Facebook has already nuked the group.”
Well that sucks... But they should have known. It only takes two days to get a domain name, premium hosting, and just build your own website to link to.
I have no clue why more don’t just do this. There are hundreds of boxed open source turnkey website scripts and it only takes a couple days to fine tune one to be usable.
Set up pretty good here:

Hosting companies now get their orders from deep state.
and 2 more for the hosting company to shut you down
or the domain company to switch it off
pick your companies you work with wisely.
Problem is, “build it and they will come” doesn’t apply to a website and facebook is already a huge network with millions of members that can ‘share’ posts and things can “go viral”. Meanwhile that website that you and I can both build in a day or three will sit there empty and no one will know about it, unless we share a link on facebook/twitter.
What’s needed is for the masses to pick one of the federated/distributed social networks to move to. Mastadon, friendica, hubzilla, gnusocial etc. All are interoperable with each other, all are open source and anyone with VPN hosting can install an instance. People keep their data and can move to a different server with that data.
Right now, it’s tech geeks only on federated/distributed social networks. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Distributed_social_network
The majority of people who use social networks use fb/twitter and many get their news from them.
Until people get away from proprietary SAAS, fb/twitter/discord etc have the power to censor. The open source alternatives are a little trickier to use which is why it will probably never happen. People are too lazy to spend a few days learning something.
Ran across something yesterday that would probably interest you. Installing Synapse Matrix homeserver on a Raspberry Pi.

In most cases, you’d probably need to use a DDNS service to take care of the dynamic IP that most ISPs use.
