More than three decades after it was first introduced, a House bill that would create a commission to study reparations for Black Americans has the votes to pass, its key champions say.
That broad support, they contend, shows that the idea of reparations has gone from the fringes to the mainstream of American politics.
“This has been a 30-plus year journey,” said Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee (D-Texas). “We had to take a different approach. We had to go one by one to members explaining this does not generate a check.”

CDC: Some of you should wait longer before getting your second vaccination
CDC officials said they were reacting to research showing that the longer interval can provide more enduring protection against the coronavirus. Research suggests that 12- to 64-year-olds — especially males ages 12 to 39 — can benefit from the longer spacing, the CDC said.
The immediate reaction among many people will no doubt be to ask if getting the second shot too quickly is turning out to be dangerous. There may be an element of that in a small subset of people as we’ll get to in a moment, but it seems to be mostly related to efficacy. For reasons that aren’t made entirely clear, testing by Pfizer and Moderna has shown that patients who held off for two months retained their immunity for significantly longer than those who rushed out for the second dose after three or four weeks.
The CDC also made the startling admission that patients, particularly younger males, who wait two months “may diminish… a form of heart inflammation seen in some young men.” Anything that further reduces the risk of side effects is a good thing, I suppose. But if they have enough data pegging the odds and severity of heart inflammation in patients, it sounds like there’s been more of that showing up than we were previously led to believe.

Inside Ukraine, more than 20k Indian students are stuck in different cities and posting videos to evacuate them. Modi was asking Putin to give them safe passage. As of now, it seems India can evacuate them from bordering countries, so they are asking students to move towards the border.
After listening to a lot of youtube videos of Indian students, they are brats, they think they should be treated like kings, free air tickets back to India. Some had taken shelter in Indian Embassy, where they are demanding beds and 3 meals. Some genius went to Airport and soldiers at the airport tore their boarding passes and took their passports and ask them to leave. Stupid students were demanding planes when bombs were dropping at that very moment.

Biden has completely outsmarted Putin. He undercut every pretext Putin cultivated to justify an invasion, leaving the world - and especially the Russian people - without any plausible explanation for the invasion. And Biden unified democratic allies to support Ukraine’s defense.
Just left the grocery store, and the cashier was shocked at the prices on the beef cuts I bought.
I thought, Really? You’re just now paying attention?
The couple behind me were laughing....and, said, “say Thanks, Brandon!” .... we all got a laugh. Not sure if the cashier even got it.
