Not attacking. I’m trying to make the point that ALL is not categorically well with Jesus and faith. The dogmatic notion of “all you need is Jesus and all will be fine” is flawed. Of course faith inspires most people...some, namely the mentally ill, not so much. And mental torture is very real for some people and it aint the devil or demons or lack of faith. Theres a saying “Suicide is a permanent solution to a temporary problem”. When a person is desperate enough to end it all, the only thing that they know is Its a Solution...and thats ALL that matters.

I agree with that. Personally, all is not fine but Jesus gets me through.

Suicides are incredibly sad. I’ve known a handful of people in my life who have unfortunately taken their lives and each case was heartbreaking. You not only feel awful for the ones they leave behind, but you’re very sad, wondering what may have driven someone you love to take that way out. We’ll never truly know. Not in this world, anyway.

I’m sure many Christians have felt during trials that if not for the grace of God, they may be driven to such things too. I know that in a horrible year of loss for me a couple of years ago, I wondered how I’d have gotten through that without my faith in Jesus.

I believe that may be the basis for some of the comments here.

When properly understood, the notion is true. Jesus' grace is sufficient for whatever I must endure and, right now, I'm going through some painful physical challenges. If the worst happens and I die, I will spend eternity in a perfect, sinless body fully knowing My Lord Jesus.

That may sound like delusion or wishful thinking to some, but the longer I live and the longer I study the Bible, the more I believe this to be true. That's why I'm not afraid of COVID (had it a year ago). If it's God's will for me to die, then it will happen. If it isn't, I know He will protect me from it.

I say all of this not to claim I'm somebody special. I'm nobody special other than Who lives in me. I was suicidal when I was her age. But it wasn't that Jesus was lacking, rather my faith in Jesus was lacking.

What you’re doing is reading far more into my comment than was said.

Throw a rock over a fence and the dog that yelps is the one that got hit.

That saying doesn’t necessarily mean in this life. You believe in Jesus and what he did, why he did it and who he is, then yes, everything will be fine.

No it isn’t.

People are flawed, sometimes tragically. This woman made a decision and followed through. The life she built on some assumed media model was empty. Ok, millions have made that mistake. Superficialities can fool the best of us. I know people who suffered to a degree that they begged God to kill them but soldiered on for decades because they believed in God.

People as accomplished and intelligent as this woman find themselves in her position alll the time. They start out mistakenly believing that if they accomplish A B and C their life will just happen. When it doesn’t they don’t climb up to the roof and throw themselves off. If she had invited Jesus into that emptiness He would have no infallibly filled it because THAT is what He does.

No there is more to her trials than she is letting us in on. There is something she couldn’t face and couldn’t face life without. People just don’t destroy themselves because they made erroneous assumptions that we all have, to some degree, made.

God have mercy on her.

I read something years ago, a very interesting perspective on depression. Depression may be God’s way to make us be quiet and listen, to look inward, pray and use this time to become more spiritual and of course, to seek God and take these times of depression as a gift. If everyone was upbeat, happy, content there would be no need to search for answers. Instead, people are told to seek medical help, which of course, means medication for depression we are then anesthetized into “happiness”.
