As an adult, Robbins was known to struggle with addiction to drugs and alcohol and spent time in a rehab center. He was arrested in 2013 on stalking charges. He also snagged a five-year prison stretch for making criminal threats against people, including a San Diego sheriff.
After getting out of prison, Robbins spoke out to people suffering from mental illness.
“I would recommend to anybody that has bipolar disorder to take it seriously because your life can turn around in the span of a month like it did to me,” Robbins declared. “I came out of prison, and I’m a better person for it. I’m much more humble and grateful and thankful that I lived through the experience.”

Lucy pulled the football from him one too many times.
RIP.
Heartbreaking?!?
Not really.
Sad.
Lucy drove him insane 🤪
How peculiar to pass at 65 and be remembered for something over a 4 year span decades past.
May he find peace at last.
Hey seek-we’re all freepers here. That means nobody cares. Why the post?
Nothing to do with him but....I can’t stand Charlie Brown. I get depressed within 3 minutes of one of those shows. Gave me the creeps as a child. Hated it. Snoopy fantasy segments were boring as well.
Maybe it depends on if you grew up on “Leave it to Beaver” or the “Telli-Tubbies”
RE: Hey seek-we’re all freepers here. That means nobody cares. Why the post?
The response in this thread tells us WHO cares. Anyone who doesn’t care wouldn’t even bother to come to this thread, much less post any pictures or make comments.
Joe Biden killed Charlie Brown with his winter of death speech.
Sad to see you’re a heartless individual.
Not to be overly cynical, but wasn’t it obvious all along that at some point in time Charlie Brown was going to take the pipe?
I never thought the melancholy characters were anything but... melancholy and depressing. Basically sunshine thieves. I thought Lucy was just plain duplicitous and cruel. Lucy needed karma. Playground justice.
The only good parts were where the kiddies were in school and the teacher was the unseen whaw-whaw-whaw-whaw voice.
It was the one place of any humor to be derived from my own experience of school, a jail sentence that seemed like an eternity of hell with no end in sight. To this day I remember that horrid feeling of how many more years.

This story is especially sad because it was Charlie. He really did have many troubles in real life. Maybe they began in the animation studios themselves.
RIP
There is indeed quite an aspect of tragedy to this: While many children wish to be actors/singers/performers, etc., how many of them are “self-made”?
The Charlie Brown comic was all right. I have seen every single strip up to a certain point. Of course, it was someone’s bright idea to put it on TV and then it started to get annoying.
And then tragedy, because kids’ parents want to get their offspring involved in show biz. I’m sure the kids’ parents enjoyed the notoriety and $$$$ as much as, if not more than, the kids, but whoops you’re a drug-addicted stalker, Charlie Brown. (I acknowledge he may have ended up that way anyhow, but I doubt if life as a “child actor” helped much.)
Entertainment as an industry is a sick, sour, humorless, vicious business. #AbortTheEntertainmentIndustry
Well said. Addiction usually follows unresolved childhood trauma or abuse. No one knows the demons he was dealing with. May he Rest In Peace.
I met him and “Lucy” at a convention once. He was very friendly and very conservative. He handed out $3 bills with Obama’s picture.
