Rolling in the deep end: Adele cancelled Las Vegas residency at the 11th hour 'after furious row with set designers over onstage swimming pool stunt'

Many have cast doubt on her Covid explanation. Vegas journalist Scott Roeben, who broke the story of her residency, claimed she was insisting on tearing out the sound system at Caesar's Colosseum theater and installing her own.

'Apparently, Adele and her team refused to use the house equipment in The Colosseum,' said Roeben.

'The theatre has a massive video screen, very high tech, but Adele's team insisted upon an entirely new system – a larger screen, essentially built a few inches in front of the existing screen.

'Such demands not only drive up production costs but, at a time when supplies are disrupted, it's a recipe for disaster – in this case last-minute delays or cancellations.

'I also hear from a source that Caesars had to replace the cutting edge Meyer sound system and replace it with a different system for her.'

MailOnline has contacted a representative for further comment.

I thought the Vegas thing was only for has-beens, anyway.

not any more. the perks she was getting for this gig are insane. 500,000 pounds a night...a room reserved for the highest of rollers..a private plane at her disposal..and friends and family allowed perks at all Caesars properties..and I am sure a lot more.

I dont have any dog in this hunt,...

But perhaps because shes not doing those kinds of routines, she actually sings instead of lip syncing?

I dont care for entitle little divas either way, btw

I was hoping she would whip out her acoustic guitar and give us a version of "The Nickel Song."

Oh well. At least I have Melanie's version of it in my library.

I don’t care who you are, when that much money is thrown at you, it changes you, and usually not in a good way, especially when you probably already are set for life.

After losing 80 pounds I can tell you fat is forever on the inside. Former fatties know what I mean.

If she has such crippling stage fright, then i suggest she not do any live performances. Of course in these days touring is where the money is.
Otherwise get on some Prozac and see if that helps.

I recall Rush saying it started with a common respect for each other’s success. They first met randomly at an airport I think and became long term friends.

did tina turner lip sync? I have no idea but she put on a show. I have always thought well of her for the way she rose from the ashes caused by an abusive husband

https://www.iheart.com/content/2019-04-01-inside-tina-turners-escape-from-her-abusive-husband-ike-turner/

“When the couple emerged from the car at the hotel they were bloody. Ike shirt was torn and Tina’s white suit was turned red with their blood. Once in the room he raped her, then fell asleep,” Jake shared. “Tina shaken but determined quietly dressed and gathered a few belongings and escaped. Staggering from her injuries she split from the hotel, across the highway on foot. Unafraid of the oncoming traffic. She had survived worse.”

“At the counter of a small one star motel, she introduced herself as if she needed any introduction, ‘I’m Tina Turner. I need a place to stay. I have 26 cents in my pocket. But if you give me a room I promise I will pay you back.’ The clerk took a moment, surveyed her cuts and bruises and looked her in the eye and said, ‘Welcome Mrs. Turner. Let me show you your room,’ “ he explained.

I also dont know.

But factor in not all dance numbers and choreography are the same. Some stuff is just going to put you out of breath no matter, its very physical. Britney and Beyonce and Madonna lip snyc because of their routines.

You can have a less physical performance and actually still sing.

True. This may not be the level of Madonna stage show but this 70 year old woman appears not to be lip syncing and is putting on a show in heels

That’s a sad story. I’m in my latter 60’s and I still don’t understand Spousal Abuse, or the staying with someone who treats you this way. As far as I know, it never happened between my parents. I’ve had close relatives allow this to happen to them. I’m not close enough to keep questioning them.
No one wants to talk about it. Oft times, not even the victim.

i think many singers go on the road that shouldnt due to trashed voice or being so senile they cant put on a show and remember lyrics.

I think Don Henley still has his voice but many lose it by the time they hit 80. Of course, Dylan always has had a unique voice so it probably doesnt matter ...lol
