Rock legend Meat Loaf was “seriously ill” with COVID-19 just days before his death Thursday, according to a report.
Sources told TMZ that the 74-year-old “Bat Out of Hell” star was due to attend a business dinner earlier this week for a show he is working on based on his classic hit, “I’d Do Anything for Love.”
But he canceled because he was seriously ill with COVID-19, with his condition soon becoming critical, the outlet’s sources said.
It was not clear if he had been vaccinated. Reps for the star did not immediately return requests for comment early Friday...
The singer and actor, real name Michael Lee Aday, had become outspoken about COVID — ripping lockdowns and mask mandates last August in one of his last interviews.
“If I die, I die, but I’m not going to be controlled,” the rocker told The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.

I’m even leery about taking one of those at-home tests — you know — the “FREE” ones that nobody pays for, that fall off the Covid Test Tree at the White House.
Do I want to stick something up my nose, not knowing what might be on the swab? (Is the testing agent on the swab, or in the vial [or whatever] you stick the swab in to?
There's a massive risk factor for any respiratory infection.
I have a friend (age 70, same as myself) with asthma. She and her husband got the real thing a couple of months ago. She said she had never been that sick for three weeks in her life - really bad.
Not long before that, at my suggestion, she began taking NAC, the dose of which she upped as soon as she became ill.
A couple of months after her recovery from c19 she sent me a note thanking me for the NAC recommendation. She said she had not had to use her inhaler once since recovering and is certain that NAC is the reason.
NAC in inhalant and IV form is used for asthma and respiratory problems. Perhaps it could have helped the man. Again, though, we just don't know what else was going on.
The wife and I have a 2 year supply of NAC on the shelf. My doctor said we were fine to take it every day. He was surprised to learn the it is available as a supplement OTC. He said it is also used for tylenol overdoses. Apparently, tylenol overdoses are common among attempted suicides. He told me that a tylenol overdose is *incredibly* painful. NOT the way to off yourself.
Shame what this thread has turned into.
I wish I knew how to post a link to his performance of the National Anthem at the 1994 MLB All-Star game.
Absolutely perfect.
RIP Meat Loaf.
Thank you kindly!
Mind my asking which brand/dosage you use/store?
Besides if he died of Covid and was unvaxxed the mediots would jump on it.
I thought so too, but it’s fireman15’s turn of phrase.
It also helped put insufferable Leftist, Susan Sarandon, into the public eye. It’s pretty degenerate stuff all the way around.
I was in the vicinity of a crop duster once at a wedding reception. That’s when I learned all about it. In the old days, you were taught not to do such a thing in public. These days, the kids think it’s funny. They do it, and then video the reactions, then put it on social media.
Not at all.
I generally use two sources for my supplements. Life Extension and Swanson. Currently about 1/2 of my NAC is from each. While LE is good, Swanson is also and is competitively priced.
I take 600 mg each day. An NIH abstract on the use of NAC for coronavirus showed 1200 with onset of symptoms. If I feel out of sorts, like a cold coming on, I do to 1200. I can’t give you any personal “proof”. Only that research suggests it’s a good idea. I do it. Haven’t got deathly ill yet, which of course proves nothing LOL
Death due to Covid? Might have been a constellation of issues that got him. Prior nervous breakdowns, bankruptcies, heart attacks, divorces, obesity. Not exactly a man in prime condition. Vaccinated or not it was his choice, and I’m sure he was aware of possible consequences. It was his choice. We all make choices. Freewill and all that. The people critizing him for his choices have no dog in this fight. The decision was his and his alone. Not some bureaucrat or politician or some social media nerd - his. Bravo, Meatloaf, you lived your life on your terms.
OK, thanks for the information.
The fear of conspiracy is overrated. The exploitation of individual instances, selective factual reporting and emotional emphasis, works well enough. It has been going on for decades in the news.
If he had been a freeper he would have stashed away a supply of Ivermectin, just in case.
I went to the ER in 1981 with Ventricular fibrillation. They put me out and zapped my heart with the paddles to reset it. They said I had WPW. They gave me some pills and said if it happens again they would have to zap a nerve in my heart. That was the only time it happened.
I call BS. He was pretty sick in the last few years. Issues with his heart. You know what it means when they use “according to sources”? It means were making this crap up.
Meatloaf played Eddie in Rocky Horror Picture Show. Dr Frank-N-Furter, murders Eddie then serves him up for dinner.
“Eddie is a tender subject, another slice anyone?”
They told me that a one off like that happens about 30% of the time. Unfortunately, with me A Fib was not a one off and it didn’t stay gone. Oh well, someone’s got to be in that lucky 30% - good for you!
