Tucker Carlson's Isolationism Jumps The Shark - Guests Talking About An Invasion Of Russia
Vanity

Posted on 01/20/2022 6:27:05 PM PST by Williams

Hope this vanity to General/ Chat is not too intrusive.

I love Tucker Carlson, his analysis and his bravery, to the extent he's the only Fox show I watch every night.

However, Tucker's opposition to any possible (even imagined) American military action is extreme.

Tucker is against America going to war with Russia over Ukraine. That's ok, but so is everyone, including the Biden Administration. Biden made it clear the American/ NATO reaction to a Russian invasion, would be limited to sanctions.

Yesterday, everyone but Tucker heard Biden practically invite Russia into Ukraine. But Tucker still claimed on yesterday's show that Biden wanted a war with Russia over Ukraine.

Today, he continued his parade of guests who said America wants to invade Russia, and that America will be defeated. I'm not exaggerating, his guest tonight was saying that NATO was created to prevent war, and that the Europeans will not support an invasion of Russia and we'll fail. That's crazy, no one is discussing an invasion of Russia.

Tucker NEVER acknowledges the only thing going on right now is a threatened Russian invasion of Ukraine.

Tucker and his guests keep touting Russia's "strategic interests" which justify invading Ukraine. This is supposedly because Ukraine is about to join NATO, something which is no where near happening and which is a pretext Putin is raising to justify annexing Ukraine.

Prior to this crisis, Tucker had guests claiming we wanted to invade Iran, and who said Iran would defeat the United States.

I respect Tucker's non-intervention beliefs. I accept that some elitists want endless wars. But that doesn't justify lying about a planned US war in Russia, or even in Ukraine.

It also doesn't justify echoing the old Soviet/ Russian ploy of claiming Russia has to attack other countries in "self defense", because the West is "encircling" Russia.

The only thing being done to support Ukraine is giving them weapons to defend themselves - and threatening SANCTIONS. This was also the Trump policy.

Why does Tucker oppose economic sanctions to deter military invasions in Europe? Well he doesn't exactly oppose them, he ignores them and instead argues against his strawman of a planned WWIII with Russia. No one is threatening that.

I'm sorry, but his guests on this topic are anti-American apologists for Russia.

There's an obvious counter argument, that it's a bad thing to encourage Russian military attacks in Europe. Tucker never even acknowledges that argument.

I see Tucker as part of the controlled opposition but I agree with him here. That whole sh!+ show is not worth the life of one of us. Ask me when they go into Poland or the UK and I may feel differently.

You could be right. The old paleo-conservatives who salivated with hatred at the name ‘Russia’ are a dying breed though.

Tucker is a multi-millionaire media personality. It’s nothing more than infotainment.

“... the only thing going on right now is a threatened Russian invasion of Ukraine.”

No, the Neocons want war witn Russia. They are nuts.

Also, without a Russian threat, what interest is Ukraine to the rest of the world. Hyping up the threat of an invasion is obviously in the Ukrainian interest.

Personally, my only reaction is that this threatened conflict has nothing to do with the USA and we should stay the heck away from it. Shipping the Ukrainians weapons to kill Russians with is a bad idea. It is destabilizing IMO and we should stop.

Obama didn’t NEED to wag the dog!!

Most Americans don't want our troops in Ukraine.

That kind of defeats a Ukraine wag-the-dog strategy, doesn't it.

Williams, you are a special kind of idiot to want to get in the midddle of a civil war in Eurasia between Russian Slavs. If you think Afghanistan sucked wait until we fight Russians in the Ukraine. All this while we’re being colonized by communists.

You go first and tell us what it is like.

I believe the root of Tucker's thinking lies in the question, "What is in America's interest in Ukraine." To be honest, I don't have one idea how it is. Does Europe have one? It's their problem if they do. Personally, I do not want my SIN to be deployed to Ukraine. There is nothing worth fighting over for my grandson and daughter to lose my SIN. Deploy him to the Mexico border.

Tucker also seems to broach the subject of our relationship with Russia, as in the reasons why we shouldn't be better friends with them. I certainly feel closer to Russia culturally and value wise than with the Chinese (CCP). I am for a complete cut in relations with China by the way. Russia is not the Soviet Union any longer and I am not convinced that Putin wants to reestablish Soviet satellite states. But even if he does, I don't see it as our problem. I guess I have turned into a complete isolationist in the past few years. The only use of military should be to completely and utterly destroy any attacker. Do it quickly. Do it ugly. Do it cheaply. Get it over with zero American lives lost. That keeps us safe at home and it is also the litmus test of Ukraine and Russia. How does Russia invading Ukraine make us unsafe at home? If it doesn't make us unsafe, then there is zero need to put American lives on the line.

The root of my thinking is simple. We should be silent on issues that do not affect us. That magnifies everything we say when issues do affect us. I don't go for this United Nations peace in the world globalist bullshit that always leads to war. NATO is just different extension of the same idea. It is time for Europe to take care of their own and pay for their own. If they did that, we could be better friends. Perhaps if Europe was serious about keeping order and nation states the same in Europe, then Russia would not be at the border of Ukraine. Obviously, Putin not only sees us as being weak, but also Europe. He is on the verge of attack because he wants to split NATO. Since I do not care about NATO, then I must ask again why should we care if he is trying to divide us? We should divide ourselves regardless of what Putin wants. That will make Europe stand on its own two feet for a change. And pay for it.

He’s not again any military action. He’s opposed to military action that isn’t in the interest of the US.

He’s all for military action to close our southern border.
