Sen. Rand Paul, R-Ky., released a new report Tuesday on the troubling effects of inflation on low and middle-income families as well as small businesses.
Paul, the top Republican on the Senate Committee on Small Business and Entrepreneurship, blames the 7% spike in consumer prices – a 40-year high – on excessive coronavirus relief spending by Congress, and warns the rising prices are "only going to get worse."
"In recent months, prices on nearly everything from gas, food, and clothes to electricity, car prices, and rent, have all increased, and unfortunately it's only going to get worse," Paul said in a statement released first to Fox News Digital. "Congress needs to realize that further spending at this time of rapidly rising prices is only going to continue the trend of rising prices on this nation’s already vulnerable businesses and families."

The report. You didn’t link to the report. :)
“Congress needs to realize that further spending at this time of rapidly rising prices is only going to continue the trend of rising prices on this nation’s already vulnerable businesses and families.”
Congress doesn’t give a rat’s ass. In fact, they will probably quadruple down on everything destructive just to spite Senator Paul.
HG must be sleeping.
Nice report,
When the tables were turned, with republicans in control,
The dems ran commercials with old fixed incomes complaining
About eating dog food.
The pet food shelves are empty
I’m an old guy on social security and I got an almost 6% cost of living increase this year. When you factor in my 18% increase in Medicare premium I’m operating on an additional $24(1%) per month. Real inflation is probably running 12-15% now. Bottom line, I’ll take at minimum at least a 10% cut to my budget this year.
That sucks!

Now, the Republicans are wringing their hands, wondering how they are going to save the Democrats…
The Dems in congress do realize that, they just don't care. They insure their re-election by increasing welfare to their constituents which comprise their voter base. Inflation doesn't matter much to the welfare class when their welfare is increased at a faster pace than inflation. Food stamps, housing allowance, child care credits, EITC, medicaid, and dozens of other welfare payments all get increased as fast as the Dem congresscritters can push the YEA vote button.
Meanwhile the working middle class, which mostly doesn't vote democrat, gets crushed by inflation because their wages aren't keeping up. The welfare mama with five kids by five different fathers doesn't care that groceries are up 30%, she doesn't pay for them with her own money anyway. She just whips out the EBT card and buys some more $20/lb ribeyes.
