My company isn’t closed monday. Outside the “usual suspect” (financial sector, postal, schools) I don’t know anybody marking MLK. It’s like presidents’ day, the holiday nobody cares about (although starting last year my company did on that one).

I think it is easier for small companies to ignore some holidays; they aren’t held to the same PC scrutiny as large ones that basically function as extensions of gubmint (with PC policies and such).
It provides a midwinter long weekend. I call it “Spring Break for Working People”. Presidents Day is a bastardizing of Washington and Lincoln’s birthdays; bashing the two into one. What else is new?!
