I think it is easier for small companies to ignore some holidays; they aren’t held to the same PC scrutiny as large ones that basically function as extensions of gubmint (with PC policies and such).
My company isn’t small. Most companies ignore a bunch of the federal holidays. It’s really got nothing to do with PC or anything. Most companies don’t get Veterans Day off either, cause they already have Thanksgiving and outside retail the day after. 3 is “too many”. Probably the problem MLK has too, we just got back to work from Christmas shutdown on the 4th, now another holiday 2 weeks later? Nope. Schools, financial and the PO. Those are the only folks that get all the holidays off.
