“Tinnitus also occurs in long time heavy drinkers. Ive learned to cope...haha.”
My tinnitus began on Christmas day . I too am a heavy drinker but also deal with some anxiety and stress .
“So I’ve had Covid for the last decade or two? Who knew.”
ditto!!
Loud rock bands since about age 14, and I'm 70. Still playing, but not as loud.
Constant high-level of high-freq tinnitus the last 3 decades. Dayum. And it masks everything above about 2KHz, so my audiologist set me up with some awesome Oticon hearing aids to boost the high end. They're great, but I'd really rather just not have the tinnitus.
Oh well.
Roger that!
Sorry aboutt that. How do you deal with it. Do you tune it out?
No pun intended.
Yeah, more than anything else, I have learned how "not to hear it", through a combination of meditation and concentration on something else (reading a book, playing on the computer, posting on FreeRepublic) to take the edge off it.
The hard part is trying to go to sleep. I end up reading on my iPad a lot, until the thing falls on my lap and I realize my eyes have been closed for a few minutes. Otherwise, the noise makes it tough to drop off.
Tinnitus has a reputation for driving people crazy, or even to suicide. It sometimes gets so bad I understand that, but I don't feel like dying yet, so I try to do something to make it bearable.
Hydration, sleep, meditation, and for some reason, Vitamin B12, seem to be the most critical things for me. Drink water, don't stress, take vitamins, keep the mind busy.
I am saving that thought. It brings peace, in a noisy sort of way.
Unfortunately they kicked Ozzy out the year before, and Ronnie James Dio from Rainbow replaced him.
Yes…SEGER.
Darn autocorrect!
I hear the theme from I Love Lucy.
If a buzzing sound is caused by Covid, then I have had Covid for 30 years.
