The next day I got a call from the pharmacy saying my Ivermectin prescription was ready for pickup.

What pharmacy?

Most doctors are compromised politically & professionally.

Find another who at least pretends to care for humans and values life.

Meh, I wouldn’t waste the time with that doc. I found a great doc through pushhealth.com. And another through chatting with FReepers.

Here’s another place to look: https://covid19criticalcare.com/ivermectin-in-covid-19/covid-19-care-providers/

I didn’t catch the switch to hydroxychloroquine. My question was based on my personal experience. I live 2.5 degrees south and have taken hydroxychloroquine as prophylaxis. Now, we take doxycycline. But, never had ivermectin recommended for anything but worms.

Got an order of Ivm and HCQ from India in November. It took about 3 weeks to get to Houston. Found them through the Front Line Doctors website.

Get a different doc, but send her this. She’s stupid and needs to be educated.
There are many studies on the benefits of Ivermectin in covid, this is just one I happened to keep the link for.

Priyamadhaba Behera, Binod K Patro, [...], and Gitanjali Batmanbane

Additional article information

Abstract

Introduction

Healthcare workers (HCWs) are vulnerable to getting infected with severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2). Preventing HCWs from getting infected is a priority to maintain healthcare services. The therapeutic and preventive role of ivermectin in coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) is being investigated. Based on promising results of in vitro studies of oral ivermectin, this study was conducted with the aim to demonstrate the prophylactic role of oral ivermectin in preventing SARS-CoV-2 infection among HCWs at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Bhubaneswar.

You probably want to start the search for a new doctor now. :)

Unfortunately it seems your doctor is woke or buys into the narratives the media has reported about Ivermectin. She should be educated enough to know better than to repeat CNN talking points when you brought it up.

Makes you wonder how many people have died unnecessary deaths because their personal doctor refuses to try therapeutics that work in treating Covid. Instead they get treatments that don’t work or nothing at all until they require a ventilator to breath.

Having spent a career in medicine, I learned there is no end to the ignorance and lack of common sense of most doctors.

“Examples include the EPIC trial (published in JAMA), IVERCORCOVID (BMJ Infectious Disease), the TOGETHER trial (currently a pre-print), and the I-TECH trial (currently a press release). These more reputable studies have been uniformly negative.”

“The proportion of patients with extended ER observation or hospitalization was the 86/677 for the IVM group and 95/678 in the placebo group.”

see page 21 for ivermectin:
https://dcricollab.dcri.duke.edu/sites/NIHKR/KR/GR-Slides-08-06-21.pdf

“For the control group, 17.3 per cent or 43 out of 249 patients deteriorated to severe disease, while the Ivermectin group saw 21.2 per cent or 51 out of 241 patients progressing to severe disease.”

How could she not know that information about the Nobel Prize. Sounds like she’s not the smartest doc in the box.

Yes.

My most wonderful dog from the ‘80s-‘90s had Heartgard.

Ivermectin is the basis of HG.

It’s not just for horses.

Question: why asking for Rx?

Please don’t hyperventilate about COVID. Unless you have a vulnerable condition, likely you will have little problem with COVID. Save the supply for MAYBE if you actually get the disease.

Just the fact that many alternative seekers here demand a prophylactic supply feeds into the fearful premise of libs that this is indeed a dread disease. It’s not all it’s made out to be.

My MIL did die Jan 6; she had several issues though healthy seeming, but I suspect very obese might’ve been the corker. I had it last year before that, along with all our immediate households, and none of us even went to the hospital, including my mom. Her more elderly friend who “started it” found out she had it at hospital for another issue. She likewise had virtually no issue with it.

In case you decide to reply, the following study confirms your position:

https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/33065103/

Followed by this one, which makes a point of mentioning its status as a Pulitzer-winning drug:

https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/34466270/

Best of luck. Either way, find a new doctor. Mention that you fear seeing a doctor too frightened to acknowledge data contradictory to their personal position, regardless of benefit to their patient. A physician with that position will do more harm than good.
