Alec Baldwin refuses to turn his phone over to investigators, who have a warrant to seize it. They believe it could provide evidence clarifying the chain of events that led to the shooting death of a cinematographer on the set of the film “Rust” in New Mexico in October.
And yet, in a video the actor posted to Instagram, he’s “demanding” law enforcement “honor the death” of the cinematographer, Halyna Hutchins, by finding out “the truth.” Which, presumably, isn’t on his phone.
The Instagram video came after a Friday New York Post report in which legal experts contacted by the newspaper said “incriminating evidence” could be on the phone or the actor could be worried about privacy violations.
In addition, the deletion of any text messages dealing with the shooting could open Baldwin up to criminal contempt charges.
Investigators say Baldwin shot Hutchins Oct. 21 while he was rehearsing a scene in which he drew a prop gun. A live round was in the chamber and fired, killing the cinematographer and injuring another cast member.
In the five-minute video posted Sunday, Baldwin said “any suggestion that I am not complying with requests or orders or demands or search warrants about my phone, that’s bulls***. That’s a lie.”
Instead, he said that authorities in New Mexico have to go through authorities in New York, where Baldwin is. He said the issue involved identifying exactly what authorities in New Mexico need.
“They can’t just go through your phone and take your photos, or your love letters to your wife, or what have you,” Baldwin said.
But, Baldwin insisted his primary focus is discovering “the truth” about Hutchins’ death — and he’s “demanding” investigators get right on that.

New Mexico should stop flapping its lips about it and put out an arrest warrant for Alec Baldwin. Otherwise they should just shut the F up.
If this were someone on this forum, their home would have been broken into with a no-knock warrant.
Indeed his next excuse will be some republican on the set bumped into his elbow causing the gun to go off.

I despise this arrogant prick as much as anyone on FR, but elementary fairness requires that no stone be left unturned. It is entirely possible that one of his film crew set him up by loading the gun, and then he was criminally negligent by not checking whether the weapon was loaded. That wouldn’t negate his responsibility (though he thinks that it would), and wound actually damage his reputation more - because his arrogant and overbearing behavior drove someone to commit murder to get back at him. Oh, and YES, if this is the case then whomever loaded the gun needs jail for life.

The laws also don’t apply to him. This evil jerk, because you can’t really call him a man, has something to hide.
Arrest this POS,cuff him,take him to lock up and put the orange jumpers on him. Let’s see how tough he really is.

Another interesting tidbit is that Alec, early on, had picked out the gun that would kill her. Another fact...RUST is about a man who accidently kills someone. (That would send Columbo into a frenzy.)
I'll say it again...He didn't inspect it....because he knew it was in position to do the job.
Alec must have had a history with her...he didn't pick her up off the streets.
After doing a little reading...The live round was NOT in the chamber. The live round moved into the chamber when he cocked it.

Holy **** guys, this is one amazing interview. Albertini grew up in LA and ran in the same circles as the Arquettes, Johnny Depp, River Phoenix, Charlie Sheen, Peter Greene, etc. Albertini calls up a CPS hotline and begins to tell story after story of the underbelly of that scene in the 80s. The first twenty minutes is very combative as the guy at CPS thinks he’s a quack but then he starts to realize that Albertini is telling the truth as the two actually grew up and knew some of the same people. It’s amazing to hear the transformation from “you’re full of ****” to “I’m taking notes, go on”
In it, you’ll hear how River Phoenix died and who was responsible. (Flea and John Frusciante)
You’ll hear how Peter Greene killed, videotaped and ate the brains of a guy the CPS person knew. Albertini was asked to move the body which he declined and got the cops instead. When they returned, Joel Silver was there helping Greene and the two were carted off in cuffs. It was ruled an accidental death and neither were charged.
You’ll hear how Corey Haim drugged Feldman and had a threesome with another man.
You’ll even hear that Trump was a good man and never did any of that stuff. Neither did Depp or Sheen.
And you’ll hear how these coverups happen, specifically Nancy Pelosi, Garcetti, and Newsome.
It’s honestly an amazing listen and to make it more palatable skip twenty minutes in when the guy at CPS starts to believe him.

I hope the family of the woman he shot and killed has already filed suit against him.
