That’s great news. We’re on our way. Now it’s up to the satellite/telescope. Get to the right spot, “stop” and then unfold completely.
It is. If it makes it into operation in its working position orbiting around L2, it will be the greatest observatory every made. It has so much wonderful potential because of its extreme sensitivity to infrared light.
At least the delays here on Earth have come to an end. It is going to be all the way until July until we start getting pictures. Perhaps the next merger of neutron stars will be photographed by the Webb Telescope. There will be 4 gravity wave detectors up and running sometime next year.
I hope they did not forget to put a face diaper on the telescope to protect it from Omicron waves from deep space.
Why is it saying 2 and a half hours now?
Looks like they’re going to run it again for late risers.
One of my son’s good friends works on the Webb mission at NASA. Probably breathing a huge sigh of relief this morning.
Far more advanced is great, but in telescopes aperture is king and the Webb mirror dwarfs the Hubble’s. It should provide some amazing images.
Looks like theyre going to run it again for late risers.
Do you know what I know? In your palace warm, mighty king.
Do you know what I know? A child, a child shivers in the cold. Let us bring him silver and gold:

Genesis 1:16 And God made two great lights; the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night: he made the stars also:
A Solar Orbit The James Webb Space Telescope will not be in orbit around the Earth, like the Hubble Space Telescope is - it will actually orbit the Sun, 1.5 million kilometers (1 million miles) away from the Earth at what is called the second Lagrange point or L2. What is special about this orbit is that it lets the telescope stay in line with the Earth as it moves around the Sun. This allows the satellite's large sunshield to protect the telescope from the light and heat of the Sun and Earth (and Moon).

Santa is not expected to cross paths with the Ariane 5 rocket, which is scheduled to lift off during a 32-minute window that opens at 7:20 a.m. EST (1220 GMT) on Saturday. That's 9:20 a.m. local time at the launch site: the Guiana Space Center near Kourou, French Guiana.

We don't want the mirrors to crack until they get images >>13.5 billion years old.
When they do, the astro-geniuses will look like astro-nitwits. At first they will lie, then they will try to hide the data then they will start early retiring.
