Gaetz: I was the first member of Congress to pledge that I will nominate Donald J Trump for Speaker of the House and people like to laugh but you know what? They laughed at the idea of him becoming president too. And that happened. So speaker Trump’s got a pretty good ring to it to me.

Trump as Speaker of the House. I don’t see a downside to this.

President Trump still sounds good to me, but I can certainly enjoy Speaker Trump as well.
As long as we have a no-holds-barred Conservative President to go with it..
And a non-RINO Republican-controlled House and Senate would also be good.

Lots of downside if he wants to run in 2024. Speakers are universally despised. They’re hated by 100% of the minority party and 50% of their own party.
Mr K (not the one on this forum) and I have a mild disagreement on how good a Speaker DT would be - I think he would be fantastic, maybe even more effective than if he was President, but Mr K doesn’t like the idea and says he would be under attack constantly and wouldn’t get anything done.
Trump as speaker is wishful thinking, not realistic and laughable because Trump would not even consider it. What a joke..
I would take DJT as Speaker with DeSantis in 2024 in a second.
Gameplan
1. Win back House and Senate for republicans
2. Appoint Trump House Speaker
3. Impeach and remove Biden and Harris
4. Trump becomes President thru succession.
5. A million lib heads explode
I’d pay real money to watch Pelosi hand over the gavel to DJT.
He’s hated by all the dems, and at least half the republicans now. And I mean the political class. Not the electorate.
Don’t see him being speaker as having a down side.

Two years as Speaker. 3rd in line for the White House, with two absolute morons in front of him. Wow!!
Can you imagine what those meetings would be like, not on a controlled debate stage, with clowns like Chris Wallace providing top cover.
They would want, but couldn’t have, constant media coverage of every meeting but that wouldn’t work. CornPop wouldn’t be able to keep up.
