Men can write their name in the snow with an appendage that women do not possess.
The simple solution has several elements.
1) For those athletes that require scholarships, take up a collection of money to replace it.
2) Most of the team and their parents boycott the team.
3) Hold “alternative” swim meets in private facilities, with no genetic males allowed to participate.
4) Get noisy to different media about why.
5) When protesters assemble, loudly offer to sponsor a meet between “males and males”.
This is like putting a good heavyweight in the ring with a great lightweight. The bout proves nothing and it’s not sport.
Female athletes deserve a level playing field and these confused guys need to seek help not women’s records.
You just have to practice, and show up for meets; far as I remember. Worse case, fault a few times and be disco’ed.
I see. I never would have thought of that...
There are no athletic scholarships in the Ivy League. When you attend an Ivy League school you will be exposed to bizarre absurd things.
I’d wager that this ‘transgender’ swimmer has not undergone any sort of medical transformation beyond growing his hair and maybe some hormone shots if even that. The real think to do is to require that a ‘transgender’ wanting to compete as a female undergo the full transformation. My bet is that he wouldn’t do it.
Did I mention athletic scholarships? NOPE.
The athletic ability of some kid from the middle class who can play a sport, combined with legitimate academics, will get them an academic scholarship or some other financial assistance that will enable that same middle class kid who plays lacrosse or ice hockey, for example, to go to an Ivy League school that his/her father, who is a cop/plumber/electrician, wouldn’t otherwise be able to afford. Otherwise, there’d be no sense in the coaches from the various sports to travel the country, to recruit high school athletes as the lacrosse coach from Cornell did with me. They find the money in other ways.
As for being exposed to bizarre things, it isn’t just going to happen at an Ivy League college. My alma mater, UMASS/Amherst, is about as bizarre as it can get. Wasn’t too bad when I went there but has steadily declined over the years.
Just adding to the post.
Most of them don’t.
He has a girlfriend. In the picture I saw it looks like they’re congratulating each other for pulling something off on whoever. I bet it still boils down to money and publicity that gets money....
