Pearl Harbor: The First Overt Act, Part 1 of 7 (Guest Post)
stationhypo ^

Posted on 12/07/2021 5:23:28 AM PST by mylife

Pearl Harbor: The First Overt Act “…the Japanese aviators at that time [7 December 1941] were all charged up to go fight. Our people were not charged up to go fight, until after Pearl Harbor was hit.”(1)

Although it has been eighty years since the Japanese delivered the first substantial overt act against the United States of the Second World War, nothing yet published has reasonably explained how the Army and Navy in Hawaii were taken by apparent surprise.

Having spent the past thirty-eight years studying and analyzing Pearl Harbor and America’s entry into World War II, we, the authors of this essay, are prepared to provide our readers with a short explanation. We believe the accuracy of our major conclusion is correct.

In the aftermath of Pearl Harbor, the American people were deceived. But before anyone walks away from further reading, let us assure you that the deception of the past eighty years was in the public’s best interest. Our major conclusion is that while the Japanese planned and worked hard at delivering a sneak attack, “a raid, actually,” the raid the Imperial Japanese Navy planned to deliver against the United States had been well considered by American military strategists.

Our major conclusion–that part of our analysis that has never publicly been explored before–is that the Hawaiian Commanders, Admiral Husband E. Kimmel and Lieutenant General Walter C. Short, were not deceived by their superiors in the War and Navy Departments in Washington, D.C.

“Affirmative Misrepresentation”

Time and space permitting, we could make a detailed study of testimony given to the various investigations into Pearl Harbor regarding claims made as to whether or not critical intelligence was furnished to the Hawaiian Commanders.

Our family never has. Know exactly where family was on the moment of the attack, just before NOON Eastern Standard Time— 8:00 Hawaii time, and similarly earlier in Hong Kong, Malaya, Singapore, Guam, The Phillipines, and Wake Island (simultaneously attacked, we should not forget).

And now? The Mao derived Chinese Communists want to re-invent the Japanese Greater East Asia Co-Prosperity Sphere. FReepers should inform themselves of this- if they aren’t already, and apply it to US foreign policy of the disaster that is JoeBama. We should never forget this- or this a@@hole’s entire life of incompetence, greed, and lying for his Masters.

If ever there was a big lie perpetrated, enhanced, it’s the way the Chi-Coms hype their “role” in fighting Japanese— which they did while making sure to position the Kuomintang free Chinese Nationalist for post war failure and Communist gains. We have Gen. Douglas MacArthur to thank for recognizing this (to the intentional ignorance of little haberdasher Harry Truman, who carried on the FDR machine and globalist Commie agenda). imho.

Its always been obvious that DC and US Pacific military commands knew the Japanese would strike at or around 12/7, but everyone thought they would strike US military assets in the Philippines. Striking Hawaii was considered madness (and it was).

I also believe FDR was champing at the bit to have at the Nazis. But there was simply no guarantee an attack by the Japanese on the US anywhere in the Pacific would result in US involvement in Europe. It was not at all certain until Hitler declared war on the US three days after PH.

The Philippines is separated from Hawaii by half the width of the Pacific Ocean. Kind of hard to protect Hawaii from there.

One point of view well supported is that Churchill knew the Germans and Italy would declare war on the US once the US declared war on Japan. Which was the way it happened.

Let the Japanese surprise attack US forces in Pacific (and should add British owned Hong Kong, Malaya, Singapore were also attacked on this day). FDR took part in this plan- there is little doubt and especially in view of now enshrined democrat machine lexicon and actions the last 80 years, frankly. FDR generally with his State Dept. pals had a hands off attitude (even with the efforts by American Jews to get him to pay attention) toward Germany. This is all in the book cited: “Garden of the Beasts:....... “ in earlier post. It is a great well researched book of what actually happened and what Germany was becoming. Worth the read, as it includes the Stalinist agents work against the US in Berlin well before Pearl Harbor attack, ie during late Weimar Republic.

Thanks I’ll check it out. Admittedly, I’ve read everything I could get my hands on about the run up to war in the pacific, I’m just now starting to study the same but in Europe

In sync with your other comments on this thread. You know that the SEALs have not forgotten what the JoeBama did, running his mouth (which he could not have come up with on his own so his ventriloquists pushed this to the front of his idiot “brain”. Giving blatant intel away to KILL 22 Spec Op and SEAL team- many of whom were ON the Bin Laden mission sculpted by our clowns under obamaumao).

Deep sixed has been the true whistleblower from central clowns in action, chief falconer/trainer to the House of Saud, Howell Parrott who, with Biden’s attorney fixer and former Cong. Weldon (house intel)-— he’s on record saying while on a falconry hunt with Saudi’s in N. Iraq- certain members of the party pointed out a house on the Iranian border where they said Bin Laden still was. That the US had been paying protection money to prevent another al Qaeda attack in the US. From Bush Jr through obamaumao through Biden. A real following all the law, whistleblower. This is earthshattering if true- but true to islamonazis— a muzzie thing, ransom and protection vs. terror.

And who took the extremely clear aerial photo of Pearl on October 30, 1941. Really clear photo of all ships tied up and positioned. Like to know that one, and why such a photo, if taken by US, was taken in the first place.

Maybe it was taken by an already in place Japanese agent, and had plenty of time to get to the Japanese Naval Intel, since the task force left Japan on November 26th. 4 weeks before, the photo had been taken, according to the date.

Gen. MacArthur did authorize the USAAF to put up its P-40 pursuit planes over the airfields on Luzon and the B-17s also took off. What MacArthur did NOT due which his air commander, BG was to send the 30 B-17s to attack Japanese airfields on Formosa (aka Taiwan) which was 600 miles away. All of the pursuit aircraft landed around 11am-noon local time to refuel and the bombers also landed. The Japanese, whose air attack was delayed by several hours due to the airfields on Formosa being fogged in, arrived during this time when the aircraft were on the ground being refueled and the pilots were eating lunch.

I recommend reading “December 8, 1941: MacArthur’s Pearl Harbor,” William H. Bartsch. It is the best book currently written about this topic.

Come on dude. MacArthur was only responsible for Clark AB. That’s it. 8 hours warning-not good enough?

568 pages-I don’t think so. I read Wm. Manchester’s book on MacArthur “American Caesar.” It would not pin the blame on him for the loss of the P.I.

Meanwhile, a little known “true” story about the USS Enterprise at Pearl Harbor:

MILITARY BOOK NEWS No. 106, March 2001
GREENHILL PUBLISHERS

I’ve taken the following from pages 8 & 9 of the above publication. It is about their upcoming book Rising Sun Victorious, edited by Peter G. Tsouras.

For an ‘alternate’ view of Pearl Harbor, read “Pearl Harbor: Irredeemable Defeat” by [deleted] in Greenhill’s own new blockbuster Rising Sun Victorious.

The following events take place during the first of three Japanese strikes:

“The ad hoc strike group under the command of Lieutenant Commander Shigeharu Murata separated from the main force at 0745 to seek out Task Force 8. They found their prey at 0830, steaming south at 30 knots. On Enterprise and her escorts all hands stood at their battle stations. They had long since heard the radio message ‘Air raid Pearl Harbor. This is no drill.’ Circling at 20,000 feet was their combat air patrol of ten Wildcats. Enterprise’s thirty SBDs and six remaining TBDs were circling over the island of Maui, sent out of harm’s way by Halsey. His plan was to recall, refuel, and arm them to strike the Japanese fleet, once he had an idea of their location.

Commander Murata ordered his veteran torpedo pilots to split over their force in half, his element engaging the Enterprise while the others hit her escorts. The Vals were to strike after the Kates had made their run. Murata’s ten Kates began their runs at both sides of Enterprise, charging through a hail of anti-aircraft fire much heavier than that which their comrades were facing at Pearl. Three went down before launching their fish, but the remaining planes successfully loosed their torpedoes. Three hit Enterprise on her starboard side in quick succession, followed by another two on her port. She began to slow. Her advanced damage control design matched the effects of the five massive torpedo holes, but once the modified battleship shells dropped by the Vals exploded within her hull, destroying her watertight integrity, she began to settle slowly to the bottom of the Pacific.

Meanwhile her Wildcats had been engaged by the Zeros as they dived to attack the Kates. In a whirlwind fight, seven Wildcats went down, taking with them three Zeros and two Kates. The remaining Kates and Vals made their runs on the cruisers Northampton, Chester, and Salt Lake City. Swerving wildly and putting up a dense canopy of triple A, Chester and Salt Lake City took repeated hits and were soon ablaze and sinking. Of the nine escorting destroyers, Blach, Dunlop, and Benham were sunk. Northampton, flagship of Rear Admiral Raymond A. Spruance, escaped with one torpedo hit and one bomb strike.

His job done, with Enterprise sinking, Murata led the remains of his strike force back to the home carriers.”

At the end of the chapter, the author pinpoints where his alternate view diverges from reality. Or you could go see the film.

Greenhill Books website is: http://www.greenhillbooks.com

Rising Sun Victorious will be released in Great Britain in April and in the United States in May, 2001. It is a primary selection of the Military Book Club.

Bartsch’s book is worth reading, if you are interested in very thorough and unbiased account of events in the Philippines on Dec 8, 1941. Try it, you’ll like it.

Of course I’m also a military historian and archivist who specializes in WWII, thus 400-500 page tomes are standard reading for me. ;)

The last couple of years I have read a great deal of this. Nigel Hamilton’s 3 volume series on Roosevelt as the Commander in Chief is an excellent read with lots in information on Pearl Harbor.

One person who stands out as a sort of villain in the Pearl Harbor fiasco is Admiral Richmond Kelly Turner, who was Director of War Plans when the attack happened.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Richmond_K._Turner

Worth reading his part in the mess.

In the Board of Inquiry made right after the attack, Admiral William Standley was on that board and decided that Kimmel and Short were being made scapegoats and told the President just that.

Read Admiral Williams Standley’s autobiography, he goes into detail about the board of inquiry, the first one in December 1941 that he was on and his conclusions. I think he actually went to Pearl Harbor right after the attack to inspect the damage.
