It’s painful to watch because the lecturer is a boring speaker, makes frequent 5-second pauses, and is monotone to boot, so unless you enjoy squirting lemon juice in your eyes, you’d probably prefer the Cliff Notes version, and this is it.

The speaker takes 40 minutes of irrelevant details to get to the point that despite Zapruder’s claim that he got the entire Kennedy assassination sequence of events on film, there is credible evidence that he didn’t start filming until some seconds after the first shot was fired.

And since the Zapruder film was used (errantly?) as the gold standard for establishing the precise timeline of events in every official investigation, they all also assumed that the first shot was fired some time after the first frame of that segment of film. Which calls to question their conclusions about where the presidential limousine was when the first shot was fired, which muddies all the ballistic investigations concerning where the bullet from the first shot might have ended up.

He does cite some evidence that the first shot (if fired before Zapruder began filming) might have gone wide of the mark before ricocheting off the curbing well down the road and just before the overpass, then grazing the cheek of a spectator standing at the entrance of the underpass.

Which lines up with his presumption that Oswald might have fired just after the presidential limousine passed under a stoplight that was closer to the corner coming off Houston street than any of the official investigations considered. And the shot might have struck a glancing blow off the armature from which the stoplight hung at that corner (which at that instant entered Oswald’s line of fire). This would explain why Oswald managed to hit a man-sized target with two of his shots but didn’t even manage to hit a 20-foot long car with the third, and why no one previously had considered the possibility that the divot in the curb and the cut on the spectator’s cheek might have come from Oswald’s missing bullet.

I also note that the speaker displays a very limited knowledge of firearms and tosses in some ancillary details (RE: Oswald’s Marine marksmanship training and ejection patterns of bolt action rifles) for which there is absolutely NO supporting evidence, yet he states them as indisputable fact.

I can agree with the lack of drama on the part of the presenter, but to say he says, “there is credible evidence that he didn’t start filming until some seconds after the first shot was fired,” is a misrepresentation of his words. It is clear to all concerned that Zapruder started filming before the first shot. It is also clear that the film has a jump, either due to a pause during filming or edits afterward.

At some point during the investigation Oswald’s USMC foot locker was located at the residence, and it contained Oswald’s range log while in the corps.

I have read and heard that since the mid 70s. It might have in the Warren report.
