A 53-foot container full of donations that was stolen from Chicago’s Englewood neighborhood last month has been located, but most of the items inside had been taken, the group’s founder said.

Chicago's Englewood neighborhood is one of the most crime-ridden, drug-infested neighborhoods in the city. Its proximity to a major CSX rail shipping & container yard means a lot of shipping containers are broken into frequently and stuff is stolen.
This only made the news because it impacts children around Christmastime.
Personal note: the commuter train I used to take into Chicago during the work week went right through the Englewood neighborhood and the rail yard that this same container was stolen from. Englewood looks like a WAR ZONE.
Some years ago I posted a video of it here on FR as my commuter train went through that neighborhood. The comparisons of it to Beirut, Lebanon were spot on.

You beat me to it. I saw "Englewood" and I thought - well, that explains it. I do some work with university on the Southside, and I like visiting these neighborhoods and talking to folks at stores, restuarants, etc.. - Englewood, Auburn Gresham, also Garfield. Its a little bit like traveling in a foreign country. Go in the mornings at 8-9 AM. The thugs are all asleep.
One thing for sure is, bloated, ideological, leftist, incompetent bureaucracies + fewer police = A LOT more blacks getting killed due to everything from murders to traffic accidents to health emergencies. It also equals a lot more economic destruction for these communities as well.

This is a longstanding Christmas tradition in Chicago. Donations of toys and money for “the needy” — i.e., blacks — are solicited, and Chicagoans are very generous. Then the donations are stolen — usually by insiders — and the call goes out for still more donations. It’s a racket.
