Asked if he felt by guilty by ABC journalist George Stephanopoulos, Baldwin replied: 'No. No. I feel that someone is responsible for what happened, and I can't say who that is, but I know it's not me.'

What did he think that big “Bang!” was all about then? This guy is a pathetic liar. And as for his equally ludicrous claim that it wasn’t his fault because he never touched the trigger, but only pulled the hammer halfway back and released it (pausing to pick my jaw up off the floor), umm….does he really not realize what pulling the trigger causes to happen?
This arrogant idiot deserves the maximum they can throw at him. He is obviously so stupid and dishonest that he is a perpetual danger to those around him.
Addendum to my previous comment: If Baldwin though she fainted, as he ridiculously claims, then he must have thought that two people fainted simultaneously, since the director was hit, too. All I want for Christmas is for Alec Baldwin to take the stand in his own defense. It would be highly entertaining to watch the prosecuting attorney shred the arrogant jackass on cross examination.
This movie, RUST, was to be a western. As a kid, I’ve seen many westerns where shooters fanned the gun. Many characters were shot. No triggers pulled. Hammer release. Gun goes “BANG”. Cinematographer dies. Monkey butt at fault. Goes to jail.
Boy....he sure changed his tune. I guess the prospect of losing $60M of your money will do that...
What a piece of garbage. But we knew that already.
Karma is wonderful. Baldwin is getting paid back for his Trump hate.
Baldwin deserves to go down for this but his lawyer should tell him to shut up or he quits. These clips will be played at any civil or criminal trial.
Even after this tragedy Mr. Baldwin does not seem to have the patience to observe the basic gun safety rules you just described. You see? He has “people for that”.
I have a single action Colt revolver. Dropping the hammer on a live round is not possible because the cylinder will no be perfectly aligned. Plus my Colt ( model 1851 ) has a half cocked position that locks the gun up. Bottom line is the hammer has to go all the back to turn the cylinder completely into proper position. Then the only way to release the hammer is to pull the trigger. He is BS’ing.
This is his "please don't sue me" media tour.
Amen. He thinks he is so much smarter than everyone else that there is no hole he can not dig his way out of with clever and effective lies.
Incorrect. To “fan fire” a single-action revolver, the trigger must also be depressed. Otherwise, the hammer will fall on the half-cock sear and will not fire.
Please see 23 and 32.
Actually single action revolvers are relatively safe weapons. Except for the hair trigger :)
Doh! Thank you, Travis!
The guy makes a living pretending to be other people in elaborately staged productions. He doesn’t want to go to prison so this will be the performance of his life.
Sorry dude, the responsibility falls with the guy who didn’t check if it was empty, the guy who pointed it at another person, and the guy who went through the process of firing it.
Don’t forget the movie producer. He’s also responsible.
[Baldwin again.]
Do you ever carry 6 or always five (empty under the hammer)?
The G’s from one of those slingshot rides are bad enough! I can’t even fathom 10,000x. I’m no expert but I’d imagine that would crush a car pretty quick.
