Hours after announcing Huntington Bank Stadium as a stop on their upcoming tour, Foo Fighters say they’re looking for another venue.
In a statement posted to Twitter, the band said the stadium refused “to agree to the band’s COVID safety measures.”
“We apologize for any inconvenience and are working on finding a suitable replacement — one that will prioritize the health and safety of everyone working and attending the show,” the band said.
WCCO reached out to the University of Minnesota, which operates Huntington Bank Stadium. Officials said that the school’s on-campus policies related to vaccines and mask-wearing are in line with state and federal guidelines.
“Huntington Bank Stadium has successfully hosted Gopher Football since August while fully complying with state and federal COVID guidance,” the university said, in a statement. “All who attend events at our public institution, whether football fans, concert goers, or others, are treated equally and encouraged to take steps to protect themselves and others.”
The university said it declined to change its existing protocols for large events, which have been effective since implemented.
“We continue to encourage everyone to get vaccinated, wear a mask when in large crowds, and take appropriate steps to protect public and personal health,” the university said.
The Foo Fighters tour kicks off in May and was set to hit Minneapolis Aug. 3. Tickets were to be on offer for the general public Dec. 3.
Foo Fighters last came to Minnesota in 2018, when they played the Xcel Energy Center on their Concrete and Gold tour.
Who in the world would pay to see them?
Foo Fighters obviously has an exalted opinion of themselves.
And, a very low collective IQ.
Why in the world would you name a band “Foo Fighters”? The jokes write themselves with that one.
Obviously there are no journalistic standards. Nothing says if they’re asking for more or less protection, what they’re asking for, etc. this article is useless.
I’ve paid to see FF multiple times in multiple cities. If you like their music, just as with any brand, you want to see them perform. I wish these types of articles would articulate the exact sticking points but I guess the band wants more than the venue requires. I’m not down with fear porn so if FF is requiring crazy sheet then I hope they don’t find a venue despite my affinity for the group.
Poo Flingers
They only play for vaccinated fans now. Their popular isn’t shrinking, their appeal is just becoming more selective.

Foo Fighter was a term used by Allied pilots to describe Unidentified Flying Objects.
I don’t think the venue require vaccines, tests, or masks.
And believe it or not, they were pretty popular at one time, somehow. I guess they’re hoping that the 12 and 13 year olds that used to listen to them are all grown up now and have the money to buy tickets.
CONFIRM.
Virtue Signal received.
Because nothing screams ROCK N ROLL!! like vaccines, tests, and masks.
What song should I listen to in order to decide if I like them or not?

Fear Porn has become a powerful thing, hasn’t it?
I’m not naive to say that covid is something to be dismissed. It is not. For some folks it is deadly. Whether that be from other health issues, body chemistry, lack of treatment or wrong treatment. But, for over 99% of us, it isn’t that much of an issue, even if someone did get a bad case of it, as I did.
But, all one has to do is look at grocery stores and the big box stores that were allowed to stay open during everything. EVERYONE should be dead. Go to a Home Depot or Lowes and look at the ages of some of the folks there. Retirees trying to make a few extra bucks.
Fast forward: people that have attended EVERY major college football game, seating at or above 90,000, NFL, MLB, etc...covid should have this country incapacitated.
Amazing.
Yet another guideline?
IMO, Dave Grohl has a great stage presence but is highly overrated as a musician and composer.
Dave Grohl attended several schools in the DC area, including Annandale High School, which has
an interesting list of notable alumni. 🧐

My dad asked me if the band’s name was “Food Fighters” or “Foot Biters” when I told him about the band lol. I’m no longer a fan of theirs if they’ve gone Faucist. To hell with muzzle and vaccine mandates!
Meh. They can FOO cough!
