Lighting up your screen with its Forest Green Metallic hue is a rarity. This 1993 Toyota Deluxe Pickup has all of 94 miles, 80 of which from its first owner. This perfectly preserved truck is ready for a new home. Be careful, just staring at it can put a damper on the rest of your day.
Old Toyota pickups get used so much and so hard that seeing one all beat up, rusted out and with the better half of a million miles is common. These trucks work so hard that they’re famous for their longevity.
That’s why seeing this one that’s soon to roll across Mecum’s auction block is so mind-boggling.

Hilarious!!!
Ping.
got my dodge ram for dirt price 14 years ago with 300 mi on it, but its acting a bitch now :(
My ‘92 with the 22RE and 5 speed manual trans. was the best vehicle I ever owned. Proposed to my wife in the back of it on the shores of the Outer Banks.
The only thing they did back then was ship the bed over separately. Then they would put the bed on in California.
It made then partially assembled in the US. Therefore, avoiding a tariff. I BELIEVE this 93 model is after the beds that had a seem horizontally by the wheel wells that routinely rusted out. That bed issue led to all the homemade Toyota beds in the 1990's. I had a 1988 just like this. Mine had the 2.4 liter 4 cylinder engine that would go forever. I sold mine in 1999 when I bought a new extended cab.
The 1999 I sold back to Toyota in 2012(frame recall) when I bought the long bed double cab I still drive today.
I thought that the plant in San Antonio was relatively new?
And will rust out in a year or two...............
Heh
Biddy of mine has one that last time I asked had over 400K miles on it and he lived for years more than 30 miles from pavement.
Absolutely indestructible
Those 30 year old hoses and belts will need to be replaced.
I assume this story is correct. If so, it is terrible news.

It was a tough sell for my wife when we bought it but she was sad when we sold it and she was happy that we got our money's worth. It was primarily her car.
It had 220 miles on it and I think that the dealership were not doing a good job and making mistakes. In one instance, oil was low but it never burned oil. Anyway, the dealership apologized to us put oil in it and it was okay after that. Also, finding parts was becoming difficult.
We actually discussed buying a Jeep but read horror stories about quality issues. Darn, why can American companies make a decent car? BTW, we have had problems with American cars...yes, we “bought American” only to have problems so we have some experience with American quality (or lack thereof).
220 Kmiles not 220 miles.
Amazing what they can do with CGI these days.
Love me some HILUX. Couldn’t kill it if you wanted to. Wish I had one or three. I believe these things are EMP safe too.
So, the article says they have already been making them in Tijuana since 2004. Maybe my 2012 WAS made there. I thought it was made in San Antonio.
I probably will keep my 2012 for awhile. It just turned 87500 miles this week. I only drive about 20 miles round trip to work. It is in great shape other than some scratches to the paint job.
Free Traitors bean counters would close a brand new plant in the USA to save 1/2 cent per vehicle.
Well, they salt the roads. :(
That’s barely broken in. You’ll be amazed what it’s worth. Even before the scamdemic Tacomas held their value as well as any vehicle I know of. 87,000 miles, you could sell it for probably a lot more than you paid for it now.
