Say he was 25 in 1971. He’s be at 75-ish now. Is he 50 years seas, or 50 years deep cover?

I lean to 50 years dead.

Kudos to DB Cooper if he is still alive, and was able to live off of $200,000 for 50 years.

It was a bold plan. But bailing out over the dense Northwest forest is a bad idea. Better to land in a soft plowed field. He’s been dead since that night.

He probably would have changed his name.
So,he could get assistance.
While 200k was still quite of money in the 70s.
It wouldn’t go very far about 30 years later.
He probably would have had to pass the bills off very slowly and in various locations.

re: “Is D.B. Cooper Still on the Run?”

This is IMO something only nitwits believe.

The PARALLELS in comparing the small details on the Richard Floyd McCoy hijacking to the DB Cooper hijacking are WAY too compelling to think anyone else besides RFMcCoy committed those hijackings.

Is D.B. Cooper Still on the Run?

I was just discussing this the other day with Elvis and Jimmy Hoffa.

Countless lives have been shaped by the pursuit of one measly criminal who made off with $200,000.

Goes to show what Fedflation has done to the U.S. dollar over the past 50 years. $200,000 now might get you a couple of pretty nice cars, if you can find them.

Adjusted for inflation, $200K = $1.3 million in 2021.

As I recall, years ago, a young boy and his Dad discovered a chunk of water damaged currency near a creek under the flight plan.

I also recall that the FBI managed to record the denomination and serial number of every bill before delivering the ransom.

Best guess - the ransom got away, but D.B. Cooper did not.

The statue of limitation has passed so if he was alive he could come forward and ID himself. Actually someone would pay more then $200,000 for a book deal. I think he died that night.

I believe that DB was part of the team to kill Kennedy, the hijack was a distraction, DB parachutes out of the plane, is rescued by a Russian commando team that had been hiding in the wood and escorted to the coast where they all met up with a hidden Russian sub.

A few years after he jumped into the storm clouds, a case of money traced to his loot was found in a creek, well rotted.

Since he did not know what he was jumping into due to the clouds and storm he probably slammed into the ground in an unknown area.

It was not like the movie in which he jumped into a clear sky with no storms.

Here's a new video I just saw on my E. Washington state local news broadcast regarding the D B Cooper story.

Effort to solve D.B. Cooper mystery continues 50 years later
