You can shoot the armed bad guy breaking in your house to rape & murder your family, but get ready to deal with prison gangs for a long, long time.

We conservatives delude ourselves that being armed to the teeth is sufficient protection against those who want to harm us, be an individual or the state.
It gives us a false sense of security, but without the will or the ability to use it, it’s mostly a useless security blanket.
To protect ourselves from bad actors and especially the state, what’s more important is organization and rabid activism.
That is how the left has managed to take over all the institutions, and thus install its agenda.
Since Kyle was not acting under color of authority, nor a place of public accommodation, he’ll not likely be charged under the civil rights code. I also don’t believe he has any jurisdictional “hooks” that will give the feds authority to prosecute under a federal homicide statute. Having said that, since the rule of law has become a frail bulwark against the totalitarians, I wouldn’t stake my life on it. They may find a way.
There has to be a pretext. A thirst for power isn't going to cut it as a reason.

Kyle’s case was a bad choice to try this against - but they will have no trouble setting up some poor store owner int he future with exactly the set of circumstances they need to pursue their gun confiscation agenda.

They will not come to your door to take your guns.

I’ve always believed that unlike the wacky liberal, who will stand in the pouring rain protesting the death penalty...we are content to shout at our 75” TVs about how evil the Deep State is, before switching channels. I do believe that we are being pushed to the brink and that when the SHTF, they will be stunned by its magnitude. I also believe that with the current disaster in the White House, if the election is stolen again, that would be the flash point causing me to become a “rabid activist”!

The politician watched a armed citizen protect himself and the jury got it right. Now they know they can not use there political powers to sway a jury to get what they want.
