I have been going on free republic when at work at my government job for 20 years. Freerepublic is my daily news source. Imagine my shock when I got a security pop up stating that CBP has denied access to the requested domain. this attempt has been recorded. DOMAIN: media.patriots.win
I will try to post the photo of the security notification/warning. Free Republic is banned from government networks.............

The mirror opposite of Free Republic is Democratic Underground. It would be interesting to know if the government blocked DU as well.

The Navy did that for a while a few years ago, then it came back and was allowed at least up to the time I retired.
They also blocked personal email for a couple years. It came back too.
Youtube was still blocked when I left.

As a taxpayer, you shouldn’t have access to the Internet for reading while at work. I realize that would be more meaningful if the government blocked all sites. Government workers should be working. Use your phone or your own device for private reading. As a private employer, as a private citizen, as an employee that’s what I do. No sympathy.

Being in the same boat as you, I’m not surprised at all.
I was surprised FR wasn’t blocked during the Obama reign of terror. Although I’m sure every time I went to a Conservative site it was logged, and I’ll have to answer to a Star Chamber one day. No faith at all the the Union will represent me and I won’t have the option for independent council.
Well, when I signed up for this, I did so under the assumption that I’d uphold The Constitution, as I vowed to, but I think we can all see the sea tide has turned and I’ll be lucky not to end up in a re-education camp.

Pretty much any WiFi hotspot I have connected to...shops & stores.
Issue is, oftentimes you need access to sites that are blocked to learn about legitimate threats (some joker flying in from Yemen) etc.
If you use your own device, it gets confiscated until the case is adjudicated, which may be 3-4 years.
You have sympathy for that, correct?
Shouldn’t you be working?
