No, I agree with you on the constitutional issues behind the Civil War. I once read an interesting alternative history book that consisted of a series of essays by historians postulating what would have happened had the South won.
There is a lot that should be taught about the Civil War. There should be mandatory semester long class on it, IMHO.
But I think the memes are important in contextualizing how long slavery has gone on and how everyone enslaved everyone else, so to speak, and less developed cultures still practice it, such as China with the Uighurs.
Recall Trump also authorized permanent funding of a group of African American colleges....following a visit by the Deans asking for the annual funding.

Cuban dictatorship’s religious persecution of Christian pastor and his church continues

The regime continues to insist on reining in opposition pastor Alain Toledano and his Emanuel Church
Cuban authorities continue harassing members of the Emanuel Church in Santiago de Cuba where Alain Toledano is the pastor, according to statements made by the religious leader on Friday.
Toledano told Radio Martí that one of his congregants has been fined once again for providing their home as a location where congregants can worship.
“In reality what is happening now is that they started putting fines on the homeowner, one of our congregants, and now, they just put another fine and threatened that they’d be back in three days and if we were still holding services, they would fine them again,” said Toledano.
The pastor explained that the persecution against his congregant is due to the fact that his home and church where the congregation worshiped was demolished in 2016. Since then, the members of his church have had to offer their own homes (in this case the yard) so they can continue their Christian services.
“Due to the fact that they took our property and demolished our church, we are meeting in her (the congregant’s) yard. But the government doesn’t want us to meet there, so they have threatened with taking away and demolishing her home, leaving the family homeless. And now they began the process of issuing fines. Since yesterday morning, the case has been sent to the government for a decision whether or not to demolish the property,” said the pastor.
The owner of the home was fined 250 pesos and according to the religious leader, the “citation” does not indicate the reason the individual (or entity) is being fined. It simply states an amount that must be paid. The actual reason is because we put up a tent in the yard and when we finished our services, we took it down.”
