Raising orchids was a sickness. At one time I had nearly 30 all in the house, now none. Last winter I made a cute rope basket crocheted with white cotton clothesline rope, lined with fabric. Medium sized to have as a gift basket with toiletries in it for a house guest to take home. Design similar to this but about 12” in diameter with a really cute fabric liner.

Oh, those are GREAT patterns/ideas! Useful and beautiful, for sure.

Our Christmas gift-giving is all about ‘consumable’ items. You have to be able to eat it or use it up in some manner. This year I am asking my sister for coffee and toothpaste, LOL!

I am also leaning towards sewing gift bags that we can all use over and over, versus gift wrap. You want a gift NEXT year? Give me back the bag, LOL!

I’m also trying to rid my home of as much plastic as I can. But more about that in another post, probably on the Garden Thread. ;)

I currently own ONE Orchid, but that’s because my Amanda gave me a mini one for Mother’s Day.

It’s thriving and I’m hoping for a re-bloom in the near future.

I’m doing pretty good with my Walmart-bought African Violet, though. It’s re-bloomed numerous times so far. Lots of cheap thrills for a few bucks, LOL!
