I have two Mountain Feists that are indoors but they have a nice fenced yard attached to the end of the house so they are indoor/outdoor.

I keep their brother app. 12 hours a day.

Somebody dropped a beautiful dog off on me that was obviously a house dog. Before I knew she was dropped off I tried through Facebook to find her owner. Rumor was she was dropped off two weeks prior and had been roaming the neighborhood. She tried to climb in the back window to get inside. My inside dogs have a “puppy room” and they were on their bed barking at her. I let her in and she has been here since. I called the shelter and told them that if her owner isn’t found I would adopt her. They sent a lady out to scan her and she had a chip. She called the person to talk them into releasing their adoption of her since they adopted her from the shelter two years ago and they said yes. She found out later that they were the ones that dropped her off. I can’t believe the inhumane reason a person would drop off a 10-year old house dog to run the roads but she’s inside/outside with mine now. I have never seen such a well behaved perfect dog. Some people are just mean.

The two old dogs I have outside will be 14 next month. We picked them up as weanlings from the side of the highway. They are half Black Mouth Cur and half Feral. They prefer being outside and since my house is small and they are around 60 pounds it’s a good thing. They also have a fenced yard and get all the Vet care the housedogs get. One was diagnosed with bladder cancer a month ago but we have been treating her with an inflammatory that reduces the tumor but she is terminal. Summers in S.TN can be hot so they have a big tub I dunk them in daily in summer. Winters are very mild but I still keep their houses full of shavings and blankets. The houses are big enough that they can sleep together. They are sisters. Up until they got too old they went to the farm pond each morning to swim in summer. We have 50-acres so lots of room to run if I’m with them. Even at 14 they still romp and play with each other. No noticeable arthritis. That long hot run in summer is just more than they want to do.

After they are gone, no more outside dogs. That fenced yard will come down.

Sorry this was so long but if a pet slide is started I’m on it. I can’t help it.
