Biden tours Rome with 85-vehicle motorcade ahead of ‘climate’ summit
President Biden on Friday cruised through Rome with an 85-vehicle motorcade — drawing criticism for the poor optics ahead of a global warming summit in Glasgow, Scotland, to which Biden is bringing about a dozen top US officials.
“Biden arriving at the Vatican. His motorcade is lonnnnnng,” tweeted Washington Post reporter Chico Harlan, along with a video of the procession.
“#Decarbonize this,” one person captioned the video.
“America’s Marie Antoinette class is Washington’s elites – and that shows it,” another person responded.
Biden routinely says there’s a “climate crisis” caused by fossil fuels. It’s unclear how many of the motorcade vehicles are electric plug-ins or hybrids, but they appeared to be standard gas-guzzling limos, SUVs and vans. How dare he! At the city hall near my work it looks like just about every week a group of kooks gather outside with climate change protest signs. Yesterday one had a big “Greta” sign. I’d imagine she’s very upset and will denounce him for his carbon excess
The video I saw of his caravan showed nothing but Cadillac limos and full size SUVs.

Indeed. We live on a planet that goes thru periodic Ice Ages every 40,000 years or so. We should be happy we’re in one of Earth’s warm periods. Mile-thick ice covering a majority of the non-equatorial region is no fun.

Traffic in Rome is always on the edge of chaos. I can't imagine an eighty-five vehicle motorcade winding its way through the streets of the Eternal City. Of course, it wouldn't bother the scooter drivers.
And THAT was just for the Veep!
All the years I worked in NYC, I was disgusted whenever the President came to town...and it didn't matter if it was a Dem or Pubbie...the traffic was screwed up and you knew it wasn't for anything worthwhile.
And his support staff for this trip is... 800 people. 800! Every White House staffer said ‘hey, a trip to Rome?! Shopping time!’

CO2 during the time of the dinosaurs was 5xs higher than it is now.
No worries as long as everyone is “carbon neutral”. Since I am not a left wing climatologist I don’t what “carbon neutral” means. All I know is that the science is settled and we can trust the experts.
Just give us two weeks of riding bikes so we can bend the temperature curve. Is that how this goes?
