Cue up the Law And Order chung chung sound.
could baldwin’s lawyers unofficially request a temporary reprieve from a warrant to finish the remaining 13 days of shooting with minimal disruption? otherwise a lot of film people will not have food on the table and a film might remain essentially frozen forever in a half finished state. i wonder if that is the reason baldwin is scooting around now instead of behind bars or posting bail.
“Its either manslaughte or negligent homicide or whatever the equivalents are in NM”

I think he will be.
Looks like Baldwin could be charged with involuntary manslaughter but I’d like to hear Baldwin’s and witnesses side of the story before “rushing to judgment”. I’d also like to see an analysis of today’s culture in the movie industry about this kind of danger. Seems like there’s a lot of danger in moviemaking these days.
Back when money could buy you something.
Takes a whole lot of money to buy things today.
I'm still trying to figure out why he pointed the gun at her in the first place. It was NOT part of any scene.
“As much as I hate and disrespect this jerk, he didn’t mean to kill her.”
You have no way of knowing that but let’s accept it as true anyway.
That’s why it could be involuntary manslaughter.
I don’t expect him to get much punishment IF he goes to trial and IF he gets convicted of anything.
Key thought throughout the process of this thing as it progresses. Each step of the way, imagine how you would be treated and compare that to what happens to Baldwin.
The DA can also charge him with assault.
First, he pointed the muzzle in her direction—presumably directly at her.
Second, he pressed the trigger in the manner designed to fire the weapon.
Third, he failed to first ensure that the weapon did not contain a live round.

I would suggest the order is mixed up.
What this author labels as third should have been first, shifting his 1&2 down to 2&3.
First, check to see of the gun is loaded.
Then don’t point it at anyone.
Finally don’t pull the trigger when the gun is pointing at something.
If he did point a gun filled with blanks and pull the trigger, then he is grossly negligent, because that is an action where it is likely to cause injuries. I don't think he would have pulled the trigger deliberately in that case, although it might have been a hair trigger, and so could have been negligently fired without intent.
If the gun was supposed to contain inert rounds, his negligence is limited to not checking it by dry-firing or observing the gun dry-fired cycling the action over each chamber. That he could walk from.
You can’t conclude he pulled the trigger. The gun “went off by itself” before that. That may be indicative of a bad sear.
Excellent analysis and opinion. But, Baldwin is a lib, so there’s no way he’ll be charged, let alone prosecuted, so . . .
Everyone who handled that firearm would be guilty of manslaughter.
So was Robert Blake at the time of his trial.

Three times in the article he refers to checking thebweapon first, including the one you referred to!

(My emphasis) Third, he failed to first ensure that the weapon did not contain a live round.
