Matt Hutchins joined Latham as an associate this year. Earlier he was an in-house lawyer at an entertainment company and practiced at Kirkland & Ellis and Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom, according to his LinkedIn profile.
Hutchins told news outlets Friday that he had spoken with Baldwin and said the actor was supportive. He could not be immediately reached for comment. A Latham spokesperson declined to comment.
Halyna Hutchins was killed when Baldwin discharged a prop firearm on the set of his Western movie "Rust" in New Mexico. The Santa Fe Sheriff's Department said it is investigating the incident, which also left the film's director, Joel Souza, injured.
Baldwin posted on social media Friday that he was in shock, writing, "My heart is broken for her husband, their son, and all who knew and loved Halyna."
Hutchins, 42, who was originally from Ukraine and grew up on a Soviet military base in the Arctic Circle, once worked as an investigative reporter in Europe, according to her website.

They’re reporting it because Baldwin is about to be screwed because he shot the wife of a *lawyer*. All of his money and his production company are about to be owned by that lawyer.

He bounced around a lot of high powered law firms but never made partner. Interesting career path. Out of Harvard Law, close to 12 years experience. GC at two different companies, about 3 months each, anther corporate job lasted 4 months.

Baldwin was supportive? He just killed your wife for crying out loud, what would being supportive even mean here? Did he give you his autograph sheesh.
Go look at this particular lawyer’s background. He’s about to make Baldwin his new hobby and he’s in the right position to make Baldwin the least employed actor or producer in Hollywood - and that’s if he only starts spreading Fear, Uncertainty and Doubt and does nothing else.

What it means is that the lawyer has established an image that he’s genial... which means that he won’t be being ‘malicious’ or be accused of ‘having a vendetta’ when he goes to destroy Baldwin’s career and fortune.
I think Baldwin was producer of the film, too. So if he cut corners to save a few bucks he has bigger problems.
That’s actually pretty common with many law school grads in the past decade and a half, and it’s not because they’re shifty or worthless.
Hell, contractors do that all the time.

I am curious about what scenes were shot (no pun) previous to this one that had everyone concerned about safety.

And the ‘film’ should be available.
