Singer Bette Midler put out a tweet on Thursday afternoon informing conservative Christians that she does not think it would be a good thing to spend her afterlife in the same place she thinks they are going.
“Sorry Conservative Christians, but spending eternal life with you people is not the selling point you think it is,” she said.
Midler has previously defended legalized abortion through Twitter. On Sept. 2, she sent out a tweet that said: “I suggest that all women refuse to have sex with men until they are guaranteed the right to choose by Congress...”

Oh Bette. Oh, poor, stupid Bette.
You’re going to have an eternity to contemplate that flippant statement.
I’ll leave it to the rest of the commenters to talk about how you’re threatening us with what we wanted in the first place.
And spending eternity with you ain’t my goal …nor do I see it happening either. It’s about Christ not you.
“I suggest that all women refuse to have sex with men until they are guaranteed the right to choose by Congress...”
Damn, I was totally hoping to score with 75 y/o liberal women. Time to revamp my bucket list...
Pretty sure even Laz wouldn’t hit that.
She thinks that’s an insult?
Her absence will not be missed.
Oh don’t worry, you won’t.
Sounds like Bette is happy burning like a pork roast for eternity.
Her complaint isn’t with us but with Christ.
Oh well!!!
I hope she hears screaming babies for all eternity.
She’d much prefer a steamy gay bathhouse atmosphere.. from whence she roseth to her height of ‘fame’.. playing mostly witch roles where her experience as one matters.
Upstairs/ Downstairs, Bette.
Guess where you are most likely to be?
Bette, sweetheart, if I looked up in Hell and saw you…I’d smile…
No worries then.
No matter to us Bett. It is about “freewill” after all.
Only people like you have to force your will because it’s EVIL. People are attracted to light, not darkness. Darkness has to be forced because people reject it.
It’s amusing to think of heaven and hell as the same place, the only difference being the attitude of those who dwell there. For some, eternal paradise; for others, eternal torment.
No doubt she was once cute.
I remember my environmentalist 6th grade teacher in 1994 had ula bunch of the kids do a choreographed skit about saving the environment, set to “God is Watching Us”. I thought it was stupid then too, as an 11 year old.
Part of the allure is your not being there.
That door swings both ways, baby.
